Have you ever wondered how I make the changes on the website?

I use lots of little bits of code to tweak things, but how do I know which code to use and where to put it?

A Google Chrome Extension called Stylebot has made a visual style editor that can give you a good indication as to how I make several of the changes.

Now, I take it a bit further and apply them through jQuery or Javascript in order to use some more advanced alterations, but stylesheets are the underlying primary utility for how things appear.

It is worth noting. This extension will impact how Chrome displays certain elements. I found that when I was done playing with it, I had to disable it in order to stop odd quirks on the page.

Once you begin to understand the basics visually, you can move along to the Chrome Dev Tools or Firebug. Those give a lot more power and a console for scripting.

I have to fiddle with HTML, PHP, and CSS all the time for my own websites. Some I like to fiddle with more than others Razz

Ever thought of making a tutorial website of you own? Or maybe fun with coding? I dunno, some people may be interested to learn where and how to do things.

I have to work with Wordpress all the damn time. Good way to learn it Smile

I have definitely thought about making some more dynamically controlled fun with coding pages here. Maybe I'll create one that we can all play with in the future. I don't know that I would do a tutorial. The majority of stuff I would write would be what I know from experience. While it works, I have limited formal education on web code, so how I discuss things would perhaps be slightly skewed away from professional sounding.

This is probably why people would listen.

"Techno-babble" can turn some people off. Sometimes they just want it in plain English.

I've always wanted to learn this stuff, I learned a bit about html formatting my blog back when myspace wasn't ghost and virus space... I never got a Facebook because I was told there was no blog function, and the friends an family I want feedback from on my writing wouldn't go to a separate website I hosted like on blogger or etc.
