I just discovered this free graphic adventure today. Its really quite good with a unique vibe. It also has a real retro feel. If you like adventure games give it a look, its free after all:
i played about 1 hour and i like it. Never played anything like this. The music is good, too.

I agree, Ive never played anything like it either. It really is one of a kind. In a good way, I used to own an Amiga so the whole desktop thing has a nostalgic feel.

A few tips: When logged onto a BBS, after you have read and replied to all messages, hit the home button and you will receive any replies straight away. Saves logging in multiple times. Once you get the notepad app, keep it open everytime you dial in, it will automatically change to the page with the information you need, saving you from having to keep a pen and paper handy.

I'am stuck right now at the BBS where you need a password to get in. I also received a mail called "password cracker (DOS)" but there is no file attached. What to do?

Are you still stuck? I find if you get stuck just visit every BBS you can access, there will be something on one of them.
Another tip if you run out of Codez go back to The Matrix and there will be more posted, they will automatically be added to your notepad.
You can skip the modem dial sound by pushing enter. This is useful when your codez have been barred and you have to dial in several times.
Edit: The guy in the video actually manages to make it look really bad

I found this on Stumbleupon, played it, and loved it, despite the fact that it was a good decade or so before my time.
I only got stuck when [SPOILER:4b43749ddd]the buffer overflow error happened. It didn't registrer right away that I needed to actually save and restart the game.[/SPOILER:4b43749ddd]

I hate how I can't actually see what I'm saying. Am I supposed to infer it from the responses?

Yeah, you just have to infer. Sometimes it leaves you totally in the dark as to what the person is talking about, but usually that's only for incidental posts. It does take some getting used to but I found the game so unusual I couldn't help but continue.

@ Excel: Its quite good for an indie developed by a sole person. I had a good few hours entertainment out of it. It had its flaws but because it was totally free I wont even be bothered with them.

I did it instead of the essay that's due today. It was worth it.

A spiritual sequel was just released: Analogue: A Hate Story. Unfortunately, this one isn't free.
