Okay, so I've had it up to here with photobucket. Slow, clunky, and driving me insane. What's an alternative y'all would recommend? (Preferably something other than flikr--I use a joint flikr account and would rather not have to sign in and out between the two all the time unless there's no better site out there.)

What exactly do you want to use it for?
There are many image sharing sites, but your motivations change which ones would be best suited for your needs.

Tinypic used to be good. Then they added captchas. Then they added captchas you can't read. Now it only recognizes PNG files seemingly at random. I'm breaking up with tinypic.

I use Dropbox. Why? Because it hosts images, and anything else you want, and it cuts the BS (CAPTCHAs, upload size limits, deletion after x days, etc.). You can even install the Dropbox application, which makes uploading as easy as dragging and dropping a file into a folder. You then can then just get the sharing URL by clicking on the file you dragged to the 'Dropbox Public' folder and go Dropbox > Copy Public Link. It's easier than it looks!

Once again, I'll reiterate, there are many good options, however the choice you make should be dependent on the motive you have.
Dropbox is great, but is personally tied to an account on a file system. It might not be a good choice for a public message board.
Imgur is great, it is fast and anonymous, but they only keep images for a set period of time if those images aren't looked at.
Picasa is great, it is a web based photo host that is free and well featured. However it is not anonymous at all.
