I can't seem to understand when I read a Twitter feed. What the fuck am I looking at?
People write back and forth, but it seems out of context.
Why would replies to feeds be on the pages of the authors rather than the pages they are replied to... or are they on both?

What could a porn star say that would be interesting? Is the life of a whore really that complicated?

Ever been in a Twitter party? It's like IRC, but with an arbitrary character limit and lots of lag.

Some porn stars have interesting things to say. Not many. Mostly just Aurora Snow, I guess.

Twitter's layout confuses me. I have a twitter account (obviously!), but I don't really post on it. In fact, I think i've only made two posts on it. I should go back and play around with it. In fact, I shall do just that.

I don't get it either, in fact I rid myself of both Myspace and Facebook a long while back because social networks are fucking pointless. You want to talk to me? Email, messenger or forum...I'm not hard to find.

Most of my usage of it is to just read and retweet important tweets. I kept up with the whole super bowl on twitter. I stayed current on my phone!

I don't get it either. I made an account to see what all the fuss was about and I literally couldn't read the thing or figure out who was saying what. It's a total clusterfuck of symbols and out of context snippits of conversation and I'm baffled on a daily basis why so many people swear by this thing.
I have come to the conclusion that the devil is very real and is making a lot of deals.

E-mail is a dying format, old man. Facebook is replacing it.

Yeah, Facebook has really made E-Mail obsolete. It took me forever to give in to it, but it's great for keeping up with the people that matter in your life.

Twitter is not optimized for web use. It's designed for mobile use, primarily. So the interface is simple, which often makes it clumsy and inefficient. There are plugins that let you follow a whole discussion, but when someone @'s you, you can see it on a separate page.

I tried using Twitter but it seemed pointless to me. Facebook is useful for keeping up with people and also for getting a hold of my Dad who never answers his phone. Twitter is completely useless to me, and it seems that most people that use it have something on their Facebook that posts their tweets there anyway. Maybe if I could afford texting it would be more useful to use on the go, but then I rarely have anything that important to post that it can't wait until I find a spot to sit down with my laptop.

The only reason Twitter has succeeded is because celebrities use it.

I disagree. Sure celebrity tweets are interesting and get in the news bringing in new people but twitter is still the best source for that minute reports on the goings on of the world. The mobile nature of the site make it so someone who was there when the pilot landed the plane on the water can talk about it that day as it happens. Even the most up to minute news stations can't do that, and really that is twitters main focus a social connection tool.

It's also valuable for market research. Most people have privacy settings on Facebook. Most do not on Twitter, as the general goal is to collect followers. So writers and marketers get real-time responses to shows and commercials as they air.

Syd, I would like you to do a video tutorial on Twitter. You may also make it an advertisement for people to follow you on Twitter.
