Just like the thread says. They have the original band lineup back for their upcoming album due out next month.
This is the single and it fucking wails, I used to love the old rocking sound the Foo Fighters had, seems like they are getting back to their roots here. Good for old-school fans.
The White Limo video was awesome, especially with Lemmy. I can't wait for the new album.
-Pat Smear is back in the studio
-Krist Novoselc is featured on "I Should Have Known"
-Butch Vig is producing.... You know, that guy that did an album called Nevermind
-I heard somewhere that is was recorded completely analog, that would be very impressive.
April 12. Mark your calendars.

This isn't bad, but it isn't my favorite from them. I am interested to see what else they put on the album.

Did not hear about Novoselic being on a track, that is very cool.
Also, impressive for sure if they actually recorded the whole album analog.

Same article says that it remained completely analog "until post-mastering".
The song Novoselic is on is called "I Should Have Known". I wonder what it could be about???
This is the first post longer than one line I have typed in awhile. This fucking scrolling back and forth every time I hit a key is really fucking with my head.
It's pretty good. Foo Fighters have always been consistantly good.

C-C-C-C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER.
Yeah this isn't that great.
Also it's nothing like old Foo Fighters. Foo Fighters at their peak (or at least i think) was There is Nothing Left to Lose. Their self entitled is my favorite album by them though.
I would use the term that they are too "mainstream" now but they were always mainstream so it's not a good representation of what i think of them now. Their sound has become to commercial.
Their last album to me anyway was more of an appeal to the masses or a fitting in with the style everyone is doing at the moment album rather than a Foo Fighters album.
The Pretender was total shit and Long Road to Ruin wasn't much better. Let it Die was probably the only good thing on that album.
One by One was the Foo Fighters truly last good album and it was panned by critics.
I don't know, maybe they will surprise me but with this it's just as bland as the last albums material. But honestly listen to this:
Then ask yourself is that anything like the new song.
It's absolutely nothing like it. The new song is just Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace Part 2.
Though maybe it will surprise me.... but i won't get my hopes up, they've been going downhill for a while.

I don't think music can possibly get any better in their genre than watching the music video for Everlong. Fucking epic.
Cause that's how I roll bounce.

Who cares if Butch Vig is producing, Nevermind was crap production wise. All polish and studio pomp. No raw in your face real as it gets farting in to an 8 track recorder underground recording ethics like we got on Bleach and In Utero.

Say what you want Alowishus, I have not been this excited for new Foo Fighters since I dunno even know when.
Also you are wrong, everyone knows they were at their peak with color and Shape, their first album was indeed their best IMO though.
You cannot deny the fact that the song rocks hard as fuck. Also, the feel of the breakdown thingy at the end harkened back to old-school Foo hard as fuck, I dunno what you are talking about.
Overall, I feel as though you are being a bit harsh on the Foo. Sure they have been "declining", but they still produce good music (that is still probably better than 90% of the shit on the radio these days.)
I guess you just gotta take what you can get and hope for the best.

I'm not trying to make you think otherwise about the new album. I am just saying what i think.

Oh does "everyone" know that. Well i find that apart from the singles off The color and the Shape that the rest of that album is pretty shit. While There is Nothing Left to Lose is a pretty solid album.

The verse chords, the way it goes: "go, i, go, no". It just sounds like me to me it should be on their last album. It also stops and starts way too much. There's too many drum breaks. Literally the song just sounds like i already said their last album part 2.

I don't feel that i am being too harsh at all. I am merely saying that it sounds like stuff they have already done and that the stuff they are basing it on i don't like, ergo i don't like the song.
I'm not saying that it's total shit or anything i am just saying i don't like it. It's alright like, if i was in the car and it came on the radio i wouldn't turn it off.
It just doesn't stick out to me. Have you ever listened to something and went OH MY GOD, THIS KICKS FUCKING ASS. This didn't do that to me and it sounds like it did it to you.
