Just what it says on the tin, a lot of abandoned movie theaters, including ones in Boston, Detroit, and Chicago.

I don't think there's much of a market for local cinemas anymore. If people want to go to a movie, they look for something with the most comfortable chairs, biggest screen, IMAX, etc. These places can't do that.

We have a place in Falls Church, VA that was renovated so they do music, comedians, etc. They left the chairs in the balcony and can set up chairs on the main level so they run some classic movies from time to time. It's ver y cool, but I'm never looking to go there for the latest blockbuster or anything. Most of the places on this list will probabaly become condos in the near future.

No, I don't think I will fuck Stummies.

If there was a place that was a smaller type of theatre like that, I'd gladly go there as opposed to one of the 28 screen megaplexes. The problem is really a matter of being able to run enough films and draw enough bodies into the seats to be fiscally viable. I'd be a liar if I said that I don't think there would be a platform that could replace movie theatres altogether (a la Netflix but with new films) but the movie theatre chains wouldn't have that (and anyone who doubts their power obviously doesn't know part of who peoples the MPAA boards).

Who likes role-playing games? Me. Way too goddamn much.
