I suddenly feel like watching Full Metal Jacket again.

Also, my computer's borked and I probably won't get it until next week or so. So no internet for me, don't ask me how I posted this. The story involves Nazi dinosaurs.

You should totally check out the IRC channel.
While you're at it, go check out my band, Her Majesty's Heroines.

Dammit! How did you find out about Operation: Kill Civilians!? That was supposed to be a secret!

#EDIT: Okay, I just the read first couple pages of that story. That's completely awful and fucked up.

So, the Army is in a war against terrorists. Unless they're Americans and out of the country. Then it's perfectly A-OK.

But I'm not surprised. You can always count on the US Army to completely depress the fuck out of you.

Good fucking luck convincing the Afghans it's the Talibans and not the US Army who are evil now. AFAIK Talibans don't kill you when you side with them.

Frankly, we've been pretty fucked that way since Abu Ghraib. Any hope of moral high ground with the Iraqi or Afghan people died there.

Those poor people. Crying

I don't wish to disparage soldiers that don't deserve it, but the full story on Abu Ghraib never got full press. It was absolutely horrific and just straight up fucking EVIL. And a number of servicemen I know are not really any better.

I've got a friend that did tours in Afghanistan and Iraq, says he would love to be an assassin. I personally think assassins to be some of the lowest people on earth, only slightly better than the people who hire them. So you'll kill anyone for money, huh? What if the guy's a good guy? What if you're helping to kill somebody who's trying to do the right thing? I don't have a moral problem with killing ANYBODY that's not a child or woman, provided I have a good reason. I cannot fathom doing it to anyone for some cash. It's fucking abhorrent. and dishonorable.

Wars are just a huge con game. And this is coming from the most violent person you'll likely meet, short of a murderous psychopath. Anti-war, pro-violence, that's the way to be.

It wouldn't be as bad if the Army actually seemed to give a shit. As it is they care more about their image than about the Afghan civilians.

actually that's the impression I got.

It's even more irritating that there was a witness who said they killed the unarmed kid and he was blatantly ignored.

And don't get me started on taking the kid's pinky... that's just inhumane
