Indefinitely the wiki's new user form has been disabled:
http://history.sydlexia.com/index.php?title=Special:Userlogin&type=signup
To those of you who already have accounts, just keep doing your thing... which is usually nothing. To those of you who want a new account, PM me and include an email address that I can tie to the account.
Depending upon Lord Lexia's wishes, this may last for a few hours, or it may become permanent policy. Only time will tell.
P.S. If you were the person spamming the boards, fuck you.

I like the idea of people having to be approved to create an account on it. Would eliminate a lot of headaches of having to clean it up all the time. Maybe just keep it that way.

Could you tie the wiki logins to the forum logins?

I wish that I could.
A single site login is a great idea, but extremely complicated. Unfortunately it goes beyond the scope of PHPBB2 and Mediawiki 1.11 in this case. Perhaps in the future this could be possible, but not given our current CMS offerings.

We do need to upgrade the wiki at some point, and perhaps look into grabbing any open source template packs that are available.

Template pack for merging logins?
I have seen them for PHPBB3, but not PHPBB2.

I meant more wiki style templates. It's impossible to simply copypasta them from Wikipedia. They're all interdependent and seemingly chain on forever.

I kinda always thought the wiki should have been locked to begin with, to make sure only forumers can update it. this makes sense.

Yeah, this is a solid idea. Originally I wanted to make it as hassle free as possible to join the wiki, since no one likes registering for shit, but that proved naive and optimistic.

Can you give an example?

Literally any template. Their citation template. Their biography template. Their video game template. Pick any template on there. It calls up another template or function which in turn calls up another template or function and so on.

Wow...
I am thick today.
You meant MediaWiki Template... I don't know what I thought you meant, but templates are easy if you find one you like.
