Does anyone know where I can find the Looney Tunes theme? I believe it's called "The Merry-Go-Round Broke Down".

Out of curiosity, are you looking for an mp3 or other specific format?

Incidentally, I've been trying to find a different Looney Tunes song myself for the past few years. I don't know if it even has a name, but it's used extensively in Quackbusters, among other places, and is the classic "stuff's doing stuff!" music, like in Rube Goldberg-esque sequences and such.

MP3 would be preferred. I'd take WMV or Real Audio, if I had to and maybe even MIDI if it was good enough.

I'd scope out the audio search on alltheweb.com. I tried typing in "Looney Tunes" and got a bunch of results.

I'll ask my opera/classical music friend next time I see him, because I know EXACTLY what song you're talking about. You know, the one that goes do do do do do do do do do, do do do do do do do do do, do do do do do do do do do, doo doooooooo (doo doooooooo), doo dooooooooooo (doo doooooooooo)

Actually, you might be thinking of a different one. Not that this is gonna help, but the one I'm thinking of is more like

Do DOO do,
Do-do do-do doo do.
Do DOO do,
Do-do do-do doo.
Do DOO do,
Do-do do-do doo do.
Do-do-do-do-do DOOOO DO.

Lol, I know the exact one you're talking about. It's the one they use in "factory" or "working" scenes where they loop the same 10 seconds over and over again. It was recently in a Visa check card commercial.

Vote for Spanky for knowing that.

Actually your writing it out did help me. Do you know the one I'm talking about? It's much more fast paced.

It's actually the Anvil Chorus from Il Trovatore by Verdi.

On yours, can you accent some of the "doo"'s? I found that when DarkMaze did that it was easier to pick out the piece.

Honestly I can't accent them. They're fast paced and uniform, and aside from the first couple do's being accending pitch, the remainder in each big group are all the same pitch as well. Honestly, that and the couple commas are about all I can give you Sad

I know what you're talking about now. It sounds like a piccolo and then the longer doo's are trombones!

That's true and thanks for the heads up. Char was trying to smear my campaign without offering up anything better...just like the Democrats are doing right now.

Yeah, it was a little hard to recognize the song without a little more accenting. But after listening to the Anvil Chorus, that does sound like the one you were talking about, Jeebus.

Unfortunately it's not the one I mean, and I wonder if it even has a title.

I'll have to listen, but I think the first part is marimba or xylophone not piccolo, but definately trombones on the doo doooooooo's. I also figured Anvil Chorus was the one that you were talking about because it feels like the name is more appropriate to that one. I'm sure my friend will know and I'll talk to him Monday if we don't have an answer by then though. I can also ask my dad in the morning as he's a wealth of information I have no reason to think he'd know.

Awesome, thanks. If I can ever find a recording of it (whatever it is), there's a little project I've always wanted to use it for.

Hmm...I only got the first minute out of 2½ or so, but it sounds like the Anvil Chorus isn't either of the songs we were talking about Question

No it's not. I recognize that song too though and it's awesome and I wouldn't have known the name.

A minute into the song it kicks into the anvil sounds, which is what Looney Tunes used in those factory scenes. But maybe I'm just thinking of a similar song, who knows. I was out until 6:30 a.m. last night playing poker so I'm exhausted.

Thanks, yahoo answers

All I did was search for ("visa checkcard" commercial music) and it was the first result on yahoo.

#edit: "Powerhouse" by Raymond Scott if you don't wanna take the link

Ah, ok. From an mp3 I found, that sounds right:
