So I went to see this with the wife this weekend, and it was only after we got out that I told her the same lady directed Twilight. Her response? "If you'd told me that, we could've just skipped it." The sexuality in the movie was really a non-issue because there wasn't really any there, the wolf looked retarded, and all around it was just a very not memorable movie. I didn't feel it was bad, just meh. C-

Lemme guess: It didn't attempt to be as grim as well as, well, the Grimm's version.
I suppose it could had been worse.

I'd say it attempted but failed. Gary Oldman was definitely the high point of the movie. Julie Christie apparently thought she was in another movie altogether. Amanda Seyfried looked good but vapid, and the two male leads were pretty much indistinguishable from one another or anyone else. It did have a twist that surprised me a little, but that didn't last long. And the CGI wolf, oh, it was so poorly rendered it looked like a PS1 game.

Or ANY review, for that matter. Seems like the movie bombed in pretty much every critic's eyes.

I could have told this was terrible months ago, solely from the trailer.

I knew it would be, but the wife wanted to see it, and now she's on the hook to go to the Green Lantern opening night, so I'd say that overall, it worked out for me.

I could have told you it was terrible months ago just from hearing the concept.

So tell me, did the Wolf took off his shirt often to show off his well oiled chest?

Not that I recall. There was snow on the ground the whole time in the film, so I imagine he'd have been a bit nipply. Now, if Seyfried would've... totally different movie.
