Thank God. There hasn't been a zombie game in like a month.

Like you, I need to see some gameplay before I make a judgment. The trailer is very well prodocued, but I find myself resenting it. Maybe I'm jaded, but child deaths just aren't as able to emotionally manipulate me the way they once were, possibly because companies seem to be mining such tragedy more and more. Dead Rising starts with a cutscene of a woman's futile effort to protect her daughter from zombies, and last year's Heavy Rain opens with the death of the main character's son.

The trailer was apparently created by a marketing firm, and not by the game developer's Techland, so again, I'll hold off judgment until I see some gameplay. I did find this pretty awesome tidbit on Wikipedia:

"The zombies have fully-modelled layers of meat and muscle rendered onto their bodies, meaning they have a multi-layered damage system with real-time injuries."

That sounds fucking badass.

Why does it always have to be zombies? Just once, couldn't it be mummies, vampires, or werewolves?

I actually started writing a script for a survival horror game where you fight werewolves like 10 years ago. It was pretty cheesy, but I liked it.
