I already own Just Cause 2, Thief: Deadly Shadows, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, Hitman: Blood Money, and Hitman: Codename 47.
So I'll be picking off the ones I still have interest in.
The one I am hoping gets hit with a 75% is actually Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. I have heard good things and missed it on the last major holiday sale. Normally I hate Tomb Raider games, but this one looks pretty good.

I have the Hitmans kicking around somewhere, but for the price I could live with a few duplicates. Plus, it would be nice to have all that linked to my steam account, so I don't have to worry about reinstalling, repatching, etc when I want to play older games like TR:Legend.

Today it is Just Cause & Just Cause 2.
I own 2, and am not sure that I could go back and play the original now that I have played the second one. Debating if it is worth it.

I bought the original at a Big Lots for $5. I felt I got ripped off.

Tomb Raider wasn't bad, I just beat it on PS3. It's short and after the rewards are all finished there is little to no replay value.

Front Mission Evolved... bleh.
Metacritic tore it up and I'm just going to pass.
Also, I ended up not getting Just Cause 1. I figure that if I am going to play an original game after beating a sequel it might as well be Assassin's Creed. Just Cause is a lot of fun, but the story is not why. Older game mechanics and graphics aren't appealing.

Why would you get a sequel before even trying the first one?

Most PC games released over the last year or two have been sequels. The development teams for those games went out of their way to make the later games much better than the original.
In the case of Just Cause and Assassin's Creed, the reviews of the sequels were infinitely better than the originals. Common review comments about both games are to skip the originals and play the second games.
When Steam had its holiday sale this past season, I saw that AC2 was a great deal, while the original was not, the same was true for JC2. So I picked them both up. What I found was that JC has a weak story, but great gameplay, while AC2 was just amazingly fun to play, and the story was fantastic until the ending. I realized that I would like to play AC1 to learn more about the story, but am not feeling it for JC1.
In any case, at this point I would say that many games are fine to play sequels first, or just skip the original.
I would argue the following sequels would be adequate unless you just want to see what old school gaming was about.
Diablo II
Warcraft III
Return to Castle Wolfenstein
Half Life 2
Far Cry 2
CIV 4 (I hear 5 is great now, but haven't played)
Grand Theft Auto IV
Don't get me wrong, most of the originals were classic PC games, but I certainly wouldn't expect someone who hadn't played them to futs around with them now if they were looking for a modern gaming experience.

Today is Supreme Commander 2. No interest from me. If I want a SciFi RTS I'll go pick up Starcraft 2.

Here I will save you from making a horrible decision, Desmond sees shit because he was in the machine so long, Lucy as you already know is an assassin undercover and buys him time instead of being killed. There now you can skip Assassin's Creed. Your welcome.

All of that happens in AC2 within the first 30 seconds.
Isn't the story of Altair somewhat enjoyable? AC2 makes him out to be kinda... awesome.
Unrelated to AC2:
Civilization V is on sale for 40% off for the weekend and Civ 4 is 75% off.

The story yea it's not bad but the story is about 20 minutes of the game. I saved you 12+ hours of monotonous gaming, you owe me now.

Pretty much, the first game is alright, but repetitive as hell. You'll end up doing the same three-five things in each city twelve times. So pretty much most of the game you'll either beat up thugs for info or pickpocketing. Then you get to actually kill a person and make it look fancy, you'll fuck up and just run up and fight them with a sword, instead of jumping down and stabbing them in the throat...

Here's how I saw it, I played when it first came out, it seemed amazing. Then I learned that you did the same shit in a different city over and over again, I put it down for over a year. When Assassins Creed II came out I decided to finish it before playing II. AC2 made 1 seem fucking disgusting in comparison. So in essence you will not be doing yourself any favors by playing AC1. If you were new to the series I would say start from the beginning so you gain a sense of appreciation in what AC2 did, but since you've already beaten AC2 stay away.
If you decide to go through with this foolishness I expect a full 1 page written document (single spaced) on why you will listen to me in the future and what you have learned by defying me.

I liked it overall, but it pales in comparison to ACII and Brotherhood... not worth going back too

Single spaced is fine, but can I adjust font size and line-height? I mean, these days that is what it is all about.

I've bought Just Cause 1 and 2.
I don't know much about Just Cause 1 but i've heard that Just Cause 2 is massive in terms of game world. I find it weird though that Just Cause 2 is roughly 5GB in size while the first game is 7.5GB.
I guess it must be pretty big as well?
