So I've been connecting to the internet in my apartment in Indiana via cable, which means no shopping on my virtual Console. After coming home for thanksgiving I finally connect it to wireless and discover that because I bought the internet channel, Nintendo is giving me a free NES title!
HOLY FUCKING SHIT, HOLY FUCKING SHIT HOLY FUCKING SHIT!
Because I'm such a piss poor decision maker I need your help to help me pick, since there's soooooo many choices.
My pros and cons of each:
FF1: Never played it before, and rather than play a rom on a handheld, I always wanted to try it out how it should be tried out: on the big screen. On the other hand, I hate hard games. What's my definition of hard? I can't beat Castlevania III.
Kid Icarus: Same as above.
Bubble Bobble: Have played it on big screen and really liked it, though there is that one level which is fucking impossible, but that's what passwords are for, right?
Double Dragon: Never played it before, want to give it a shot.
Mega Man 1, 2, or 3: Yea I have these on the gamecube collection, but I have to use a gamecube controller to play it! Stupid reason, but the Wiimote tilted sideways somewhat resembles the NES expereince.
Metroid: Want to play it on the big screen. Have tried it before, and liked it, but one thing that really pisses me off is if you are low on energy, it takes fucking FOREVER to recharge your shit. Enemies don't even give you energy right away
DokiDokiMario: Played it, beat it, love it, but it's not at the top of my list of NES games to buy.
Tecmo Bowl: For the most part I don't care about sports games, but I often hear that if you ever play one sports video game, this is the one to buy.

Final Fantasy has the most straight gameplay hours, but Mega Man 2, Mega Man 3, and Bubble Bobble are the most replayable.

Ignoring the collections, I say go for Mega Man III. Taking away the ignorance of the collections and ignoring how damn annoying stage 3 is, I say go for Double Dragon.

Bubble Bobble
If you have a friend, that's the most replayable game in my eyes, it's just a really fun game. Multiple endings, plenty of stages...there's so much to ask for.
If it was Doki Doki PANIC, I would've gone for that, since I've always wanted to compare to Super Mario Bros. 2
Mega Man 2 or 3 is another top choice

Yeah actually if you have friends I change my vote to Bubble Bobble.

I nominate Mega Man III, if only because I consider it to be the most difficult of the first three games.

I voted MM3, as well, despite using my free NES game on SMB2. It's simply the best Mega Man game. A lot of people would say 2, but they don't know what they're talking about.

Mega Man 4 had some terrible Robot Masters, though.

That's all a matter of opinion in my....opinion
I feel Megaman 1 had the best Robot Masters, but it's probably one of my lesser favorite games because of the difficulty factor.

Can't we just say Mega Man rules and call it a day?

I didn't vote because there are better options. And tecmo bowl is only good if you have someone to play against

That's my favorite of the Classic series too actually, except it isn't available.
Oh shit, I forgot to add Tecmo Bowl as an option!

For me, no contest. If you like RPGs, Final Fantasy is the only way to go.
If you're more of an action guy. Mega Man 2.

It's not which genre I like better. I try to explore as much as I can. It's about which game is less of a pain in the ass to beat.

If you're looking for an easy Mega Man title, 2 is definately the easiest.
Bubble Bobble is rather easy too, but more fun to play with a partner.
Doki Doki is hard or easy depending on the character you play as. If you want an easy game, pick Princess. If you're a sadistic motherfucker who sucks at everything besides picking veggies, then pick Toad.

why dont you try each game on an emulator first and see which one appeals to you more? then you can make a better decision

Yeah, what username said.
But I would go Mega Man 3 or Metroid. Once you beat Final Fantasy I promise you won't play it again for 3 years.
