Did we discuss this already? I forget. This is a DVD the WWE put out last month. Wrestlers and wrestling fans have been smirking about the ordering since it was leaked. In particular, Hulk Hogan being put at #23 is seen largely as a political move.

7. Ricky Steamboat
8. Andre the Giant

So, WWE (And moreso Vince, since you know he had final say) admit that the following stars were the greatest, yet he never gave them a title run:

6. Harley Race
10. “Rowdy” Roddy Piper
15. “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig
17. Dusty Rhodes
20. Jerry “The King” Lawler
22. Terry Funk
26. Ted DiBiase
39. Jake “The Snake” Roberts

Hogan at #23 is hilarious. I hate the guy, but he's absolutely top 10 on this list, and let's face it, he pretty much put the WWF on the map single-handedly.

It's top 50 "superstars", so what is the criteria? Wrestling ability? Mic Ability? Money Draw? Fame level?

I bet it was just Vince writing down a list off the top of his head, and then handing it to the DVD production team.

Jericho = Much Much Better than Cena

Also, what is Batista doing on this list?

Jericho has said that he's honored to even be on it. If you see anyone on the list that you don't like, just think, that probably should have been Chris Benoit.

Ye-he-he-ah, the WWF is touching the Benoit thing with a 50 foot pole...

Top 10? Try top 2.

and the Undertaker at #2? Kefka! Kefka! Kefka! Kefka! Kefka! Kefka!

Even if Hogan was #2, having Shawn Michaels at #1 is kind of stupid. Only two other people should be there besides Hogan; Austin or Rock.

Also, why is Lou Thesz on this list? Don't get me wrong, if you were to make a list of greatest wrestlers of all time of any promotion, he would be unquestionably at #1, but he never participated in any manner in the WWF. Hell on his wikipedia page it says the only time he was ever acquainted with them was when he was honored at a ceremony at the first Bad Blood!

Vince, you need your company taken away from you.

HBK has been in more five star matches than any other WWE wrestler, so I can understand him at #1.

LOL at Vince ever giving a shit about 5 star matches.

Another thing, Macho Man is still pretty high, so either a) Stephanie getting fucked by him never happened, or b) neither Steph nor Vince care anymore.

Yeah, the list is bullshit. The best way to rate these guys are as followed:

In ring ability
Mic skills
Persona
Psychology
Fan appreciation
Time spent in business
Status compared to others during that period

And that's it...it's easy to figure out.

Status compared to others during that period

And that's it...it's easy to figure out.

Fixed.

I think you guys are forgetting Ric Flair. While Hulk was king of WWF in the 80s, Flair was king of the NWA. The only reason why he is not as well known outside the wrestling circles was because the NWA was an organization of independent promotions, and never had a national TV audience.

Also, humorously, every time a NWA member did get a decent TV deal or starting getting popular enough, they would quickly leave the NWA.

Jim Crocket Promotions turned into WCW.
Eastern Championship Wrestling turned into ECW.
NWA-TNA turned into TNA

As much as I love Flair, as far as drawing ability at least post-85 and pre '89, I don't believe he had the same merit, at least not in the changing wrestling times. If things continued the way they did with guys like Harley Race or Dick the Bruiser, I would agree. If I was making my list though, I do believe Flair would be top 5, and possibly top 3.

Is it not cool to think that the Ultimate Warrior should be on this list? My all-time favorite feud, leading up to my all time favorite match, was The Warrior VS The Macho King Randy Savage.

My list was in response to the poster above me, who apparently is unaware of anyone who existed before 2008.

Warrior definitely should be on this list. I'm guessing he pissed off Vince when he changed his last name to Warrior so he probably won't be on any top list.

Warrior should be on this list —I've been on non-wrestling forums where people just bring him up out of nowhere— but he should be squarely at whatever bottom number there is for that particular list; in this case, 50.
