I watched this tonight, did anyone else?

Overall I thought Obama did as good of a job as possible with this. It felt inspirational and was a nice kick in the ass IMO.

All the stuff about freezing spending was nice as well, let's just hope we can adhere to such policies.

Freezing spending? Like that would happen if the Dems still had the majority. Obama is just covering his ass, much like Bush tried to do after the reelection in 2004.

Jew's moving faster day by day, eventually he'll derail threads well before the person conceives them.

I did not watch state of the union address, which is nothing new for me.

I couldn't get the mental image of Keith Olbermann furiously pounding off to it with a belt around his neck out of my head so I couldn't finish watching it.

For those upset you can send your questions or queries to Obama and he might answer them. I mean he probably won't but it doesn't hurt to try.

Yeah, we should go back those spending freezes we put in place between 2000-2008

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.

When did Bush ever attempt bipartisanship?

I like the idea of a spending freeze. Either it actually happens, which is awesome. Or it doesn't, and Obama get crucified in the 2012 election, which is awesome.

I'm having flashbacks to George H. W. Bush's infamous "no new taxes" line.

It kinda sucks that the President can go on TV and it doesn't matter what he says.

I mean, the guy could go up and say, "Knibb High Football rules!" and people would all clap, yet the world would be in the same position it is in now.

Honestly, I am sick of listening because I simply don't believe that the words equate to actions. Let's see it happen. Let's see some major changes. Honesty, I don't hate Obama like so many others do, but ... well he is on my Shut Up Shut Up Shut Up list.

I thought the "spending freeze" was a good political move for Obama for a couple of reasons:

1- The Repbulicans have said they'll block anything that increases the national debt. So the Democrats could fight them (and lose) making the Republicans look really good in a time when the national debt is such a concern for Americans... OR Obama could propose a "spending freeze" and take the credit for what was going to happen anyway.

2- It also protects Obama's legacy (Health Care Reform) which the Congressional Budget Office has said will reduce the deficit by $143 billion over the next 10 years. So when the Republicans try to repeal it (which they said they will) Obama can counter with "Hold on. We've got a spending freeze to reduce the national debt and you want to increase it by $143 billion!?!?"

I lean more republican than democrat, although I hate the whole Tea Party movement and can't stand neo-cons. Honestly, I hope a moderate independent wins 2012, but we all know that won't happen because too many people buy into the idea that a two-party system actually works and is healthy for a government. It's not.

I know it's cliche to say, but I believe Ron Paul would do a good job.

At this point, nobody's even sure Ron Paul would survive a full term. And no offense, if he hasn't been able to do it what, two, three times? He's a good guy with good ideas, but people don't want good ideas. They want something easily classified by the media outlets that tell them what to think, but only if they have little to no information about how the person is likely to actually achieve those goals.

Oh believe me, I know. He doesn't stand a chance in Hell.

I think the worst thing the Republicans can do at this point is go with Palin though. And if that's the outcome of the ballot, I'm not going to even vote.

Depends on who Fox News picks for most of them. I know my in-laws listen to Beck and O'Reilly like they were spouting gospel truth. Other than that, they're basically good people, I guess.
