AND NOW... SPANISH MEATLOAF WILL TELL YOU HOW TO SOFT MOD YOUR WII!

Please, do not delete this post oh all mighty moderators!

YOU NEED!
*Super Smash Bros. Brawl
*Wii update v.4.2 or better
*a non-HC SD card

for other info on soft wii modding go here http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Main_Page

If you have Super Smash Bros Brawl you can install the home brew channel using Smash Stack... which you can get, here (set up a free account)
http://www.downloadnow.net/search.html
search this: "HackMii Installer v0 7 Stack Smash NTSC"

once you have it, unzip it to your blank SD card (non SDHC) to the root directory, the top level of the card.
follow instructions from here.
http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Smash_Stack
once you open up the smash stack hack open on your wii, install "The Homebrew Channel" first, then install "Hackmii", then exit and restart your wii.

Now that you have the homebrew channel you can do all sorts of nifty things with your wii, create a folder called "apps" on the root directory of your SD card and drag some cool programs into it, you can find them at http://wiibrew.org/wiki/List_of_all_homebrew

Umm... This is against the SLF rules. If I was a mod, I would delete this, but instead, I'll just wait.

In case you did'nt know, posting guides on making modifications to a console that allows the playing of illegally obtained games is against the rules!

Why, there is nothing illegal about it, besides, SLF condones emulators during the SNES championships.

Oh, and I wish you a christmas with fire ants, Spammish! Lots and lots of fire ants. Angry ones. Spamming the Sydpedia with anti-UsaSatsui comments is unforgivable!

Also, that is not a soft mod. A soft mod allows you to play pirated Wii games. This just allows you to use emulators and other stuff.

Forum Rule 20. These forums are not your own personal P2P network. wrote:
Looking to trade rare television shows? Having trouble finding Sega Genesis ROMs? Can't find anywhere to download the latest Metallica album? TOO FUCKING BAD. Piracy is illegal, and no one here is going to help you with it. Figure out yourself; if you can't, you don't deserve to get whatever you were looking for. If you ask for piracy help on the forums, you will be disciplined. If your first post on these forums is a ROM request or anything similar, you will be IP banned.

Using a completely irrelevant and deceptive subject line only adds fuel to the fire.

Now, what's the deal with this? If I accept a Wii system update after doing this is going to brick my console?

Also, I've deleted the emulator links. The Wii has its own proprietary emulators. If you want to run Genesis games on your Wii, FUCKING BUY THEM.

The only acceptable reasons to hack a Wii are:

1. To play region-locked games
2. To make that piece of shit Brawl game more fun

Site is down, but: http://smashmods.com/

There are mods that remove tripping, rebalance characters, and random other things. One of the most popular mods, Brawl Plus, is actually kind of shitty. It attempts to make every level as Final Destination-y as possible by shutting off hazards. For example, Luigi's Mansion never spawns in the Luigi's Mansion level. And it switches New Pork City with the online waiting room.
