Well you could look into Mass Effect 1 and 2, Dragon Age: Origins, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, and The Last Remnant. They were all pretty good in my opinion. The game to get this year though will be Skyrim on Nov. 11th. It is the new Elder Scrolls so if you liked Oblivion there is a good chance you will enjoy it.

NieR is supposed to be good as well, but I haven't been able to play it myself.

FF XIII was okay, but I didn't enjoy it as much as the earlier installments. I suppose it was worth the 17 bucks I paid for it though.

Phantasy Star II as an arcade download. I think it is only 400 points as well, which is awesome for that game.

They might border more on "weird Japanese crap" than "RPG", but the Agarest War games aren't horrible.

I would think the Fable series as well. Reviews are mixed, but overall it sounds like a lot of fun to play, even if the story sucks.

I didn't think the stories sucked. Pretty standard fantasy fair. The writing is hilarious, and they are a total blast to play, but I would tend to classify them more as adventure games than strait up RPGs

I've heard that Resonance of Fate is an interesting game. It's supposed to be the type of JRPG that breaks the mold, but nobody bought because it's a JRPG that breaks the mold.

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind. |

ive played dungeon siege 1 legends of arrana on pc and really liked it for like an hour but it got boring fast. Apparently I didnt learn my lesson because I later bought the psp version and was really disapointed.

I enjoyed the ones on the 360 but I'd agree that they tend to be more adventure than RPG, though I suppose you could say something similar about Mass Effect. Regardless, for as much hate as I've seen for Fable 3 I loved the hell out of it and didn't regret buying it at full price. I actually need to get my brother to give it back because he enjoyed it a lot too when i loaned it to him.
If you want to really get into some more action based RPGs check out Borderlands, that game had me addicted to it for three months after it came out.
