So I have a mild case of OCD that goes along with a huge case of Super Nintendo carts in my house. The SNES carts drive me crazy, there is no way to store them so they look neat and organized while staying protected from the elements. Yes, I could buy the flimsy cardboard boxes that originally housed my favorite systems gems but I found a much better way. Thanks to the cover project, a website dedicated to strange people with too much time on their hands; my Super Nintendo games now are proudly on display for all to see. I can reach for Cool Spot whenever I feel the urge and also not worry about spilling my 7up onto the game as it along with the others are protected. Behold: The Organization of my SNES games!

Ok... I am envious.

I love it...

Can you answer a few questions about the project?

1. Where did you get the cases?
2. What did you use for printing?
3. How much time did this project take you?
4. How much did the whole thing cost?

1. Where did you get the cases?

Mediashelving.com -you have to buy 100 at a time $42 plus shipping. Came out to 60 bucks for 100 cases, so not bad considering I have 100 games or so that needed cases. However if you have a smaller collection, it is a good idea to buy with a group or resell the left overs on Ebay for $1 each. Edit (they also house N64, NES, CD and Sega Games)

2. What did you use for printing?

-Went to Staples, they printed everything out on a laser printer with semi gloss paper and cut them to size for .39 each. Total came out to about 40 bucks.

3. How much time did this project take you?

-Not long at all, got the cases, downloaded the cover art from www.thecoverproject.net and had them printed out. The most tedius thing was putting the cover art in and making sure they all lined up nice and neat.

4. How much did the whole thing cost?

$100. But thats because I went a little overboard, you can do this much cheaper if
a. you don't need as many cases
b. printing on regular paper is a bit cheaper and I think I actually should have just done that.

Overall though, its worth it to me. My daughter is getting older and when she starts walking she will be tearing things off the shelf. This way they are protected, and she can enjoy them too when she gets a little older, right now I'm just teaching her how to hold the remote.

Right? In the old days we had to look at the back of the box to tell if the game was awesome or not...

Yeah but I can't recall ever renting a bad game that way lol. Now I get reviews saying a game is awesome and then I try it and hate it, when I should have just decided it sucked based on the back. Still I did miss out on some good games the old way too.

Awesome cases. Nintendo should've done this with their SNES carts back in the day.

...Do they also do Genesis cases like the ones Sega made?

Bugs me too, but they don't have custom covers for those yet. I put in a request though, so maybe soon.
