Did you know Det. Briscoe is secretly French?

Okay not really, but I just found out that Jerry Orbach, most famous for playing Detective Briscoe on Law & Order, did the voice of Lumiere in Disney's Beauty and the Beast. I knew the guy was a Tony award winner, and had created several famous roles on Broadway, but I had *no idea* that was him until I randomly stumbled across the fact while reading reviews of the Spider-Man musical.

I may be behind the times here; could be everyone already knew that, but still. Holy crap. Yet another reason to love a fantastic actor and a great guy.

That's nothing. Guess who the leader of the Chinese army in Mulan is?

Honestly, I always found the Law and Order shows to have some pretty cool "Holy crap, I know that person!" cameos. The most bizarre was probably Jerry Orbach himself, when he was a defense attorney in the first season (pretty much doing the same routine). In Law and Order, I've seen both The Chief from Where In The World is Carmen SanDiego and Chief O'Brien on the show as judges, and on SVU I've seen Jill Taylor from Home Improvement, Darlene, and Nancy from Roseanne (and I swear I also saw Jackie, Nancy, and Bev in different episodes), and creepiest of all, Fred Savage as a child molester.

Hah, L&O really IS awesome that way. I saw a couple of random Daily Show crew guys on there the other day (from reruns way before they were part of TDS of course.)

I think every actor in New York--which is to say, every actor in America at some point--has been on that show at least once. And I LOVE how they get so many theatre actors in there. So much fun, and adds a ton of dimension.
