So a box set of the ST: TOS movies are Amazon's Gold Box deal of the day. I was waiting for this set to go on sale, and picked it up. (I also grabbed the TNG movie set, since that's been slashed recently too.)

Anyway, for those interested:

It's hardly worth it. Buy every movie in the Director's Edition and you'll get more out of it. The Motion Picture's original 2000 DVD director's release is way better than the theatrical version, but it's not made for blu-ray so the blu-ray version is the theatrical cut (poorer special effects, etc. - Check out the scene where Kirk leaves the ship in the space suit - it's just the suit and the airlock doors - they filmed this and showed it in the final version: http://www.slipups.com/images/items/447.full.jpg ) amongst other things. Just stick to the 2000 DVD version of that.

Though, the new featurettes are intriguing. Most of the original Director's Cut versions are better than these offerings, IMO at least. The newer the film was, the worse the director's cuts were, and Nemesis' one was hardly worth the purchase.
