Yeah fast food sandwich shops have been pretty disappointing as of late. After 5 years of being out of the US, I came back for a visit a few weeks ago and went to Quizno's which used to be my favorite sandwich place before I moved to England.
I don't know if it changed, or if it was always like this, but I paid $6.50 for a turkey, ranch, and swiss sandwich that was basically just a thin, soggy turkey sandwich with a couple slices of cheese. I mean, I have better than that when I make myself a club sandwich on a toasted bagel every day for lunch.

Whataburger or Hardies kill it. Best fast food on my side of the US. Never had Jack-In-The Box, but seriously, everytime I go to Ohio I have to have GoldStar or Skyline. Fucking Amazing.

Where I go for:
Pizza: Papa Johns -> Pizza Hut -> Dominoes (demoted since the nearest one closed down)
Fries: Checker's/Rally's
Sliders: Krystal's (you Yankees know them as the White Castle burgers)
Cheeseburgers: Wendy's
Chicken sandwich: Chik-Fil-A or Burger King
Fish sandwich: Burger King
Mexican Food: "Hole in the wall" or Taco Bell if I can't find one.
Sushi: Oddly enough I usually get sushi at a certain Chinese restaurant which happens to serve the stuff (AND they deliver).

It's true. Nobody had to eat that sandwich but you. Myself, I prefer the cold cut combo on italian herb and cheese with lettuce, tomato, mayo and mustard, but that's the kind of guy I am.

Ehh Quizno's is a bit over-rated IMO, they used have one on campus when I was in school and it was alwasy mega-packed, like 30 minute line to get your sub.
Call me old fashioned, but I don't really like toasted subs all too much. If I want a "melty" sandwich, I will just get a Steak and Cheese from a pizza shop or something.
