I have wanted this movie for too long. I think Dana Carvey is just too old now...

Disagree. Isn't he the same age as Mike Myers?
I've heard they don't get along though. Adam Sandler and Carvey are good friends though.

Well, Mike Myers is 47 and Carvey is 55.
55 is a little old to be playing a character like Garth, I dunno.
I would still love to see it though.

Yeah, who will play Rufus? |
Rufus will not be recasted.
The article linked in the first post wrote: |
One of the biggest obstacles facing the project, according to Winter, is figuring out how to deal with the absence of the late George Carlin, who famously played the time-traveling Rufus.
"We're working our way through it right now," said Winter. "It's really complicated. He was such a big part of the spirit of the originals, and we've been trying to be clever about making a new one that can handle the Carlin issue. It's actually stopped us in the past — why do it without Rufus? We've been delicate about moving around him."
Thankfully, the thought of recasting Rufus has never even crossed Winter's mind. |
I am excited to see where this goes. I was surprised to find out that Winter is still alive.

I did some research, and if there was any bad blood between the two, it's over. They appeared together as Wayne and Garth in a sketch at the 2008 MTV Movie Awards, which Myers hosted.

I went back and watched the first Bill and Ted today for the first time in like 15 years. I don't feel it's aged very well.

Speaking of, they're seriously considering a Caddy Shack 3.

Billy Madison started off as Caddyshack 3. Or rather, Adam Sandler was offered Caddyshack 3 and decided to an original golf movie instead of further desecrating Caddyshack 1.

Bill & Ted 3. It's official, and they're not even trying to hide it anymore. Hollywood has completely run out of ideas.
Next they're going to revive the Ernest franchise and make a sequel to Monster Squad because they personally hate me.
