The 3rd Birthday is now 85-90% developed, with the team currently making small adjustments to gameplay and testing for bugs. Tabata noted that there are a number of game systems that were not present in the version that was demoed at TGS, some of which are related to Aya Breya's "true strengths."
Nomura discussed the characters from the game that he designed, including Aya, Eve, Hyde, Karud "Boss" Owen, and some characters who have not yet been announced. He noted that a character isn't necessarily a major character in the game simply because he designed it. He also provided more details on Aya's Lightning costume, which will be unlocked through a secret mechanism in the game. Aya's voice will change as well as her looks when she wears the costume, and Lightning's usually-hidden l'Cie marking can be seen if she takes enough damage. Aya will have other costumes available to her as well, which will be unlocked over the course of the game.

That's exciting. I really loved Parasite Eve but haven't played any of the sequels or anything so if it's released domestically I'll give it a shot.

PE2 was a shoddy resident evil clone that was only loosely related to the first one.
I personally think while it's not a TERRIBLE game, it's best to consider it part of a different franchise entirely.

Dirge of Cerberus-ish control scheme, with some sort of teleporting possession/overwriting ability. I can't say I'm not curious about this.

Square Enix has recently sent around invitations to Aya Brea's wedding. With this in mind, Square Enix has announced that The 3rd Birthday is set to release on March 29, 2011 for the PlayStation Portable. They've also announced their all-star voice cast for the game as well.
Yvonne Strahovski, star of NBC's hit series Chuck, has been announced as the voice for Aya Brea. Strahovski stated that she is looking forward to voicing such a strong and driven female character, and hopes to incorporate all these aspects into her portrayal of Aya. Additionally, the role of Kyle Madigan is to be voiced by Jensen Ackles, star of the CW's hit series Supernatural.
While no collector's edition has been announced for North America, European's will be receiving "The 3rd Birthday Twisted Edition." This edition will include a 48-page hardcover artbook, two lithographs, and a DLC code that gives Lightning an Aya Brea outfit in Dissidia 012[duodecim]: Final Fantasy.

I was watching game play videos from the Japanese version awhile ago, it just looks like a dumbed down action game. Typical run and gun. I'm not interested.

Given the fact that the first Parasite Eve is on my top ten list of all-time favorite games, I would be interested in this if it was coming out on a console I own.
