CONFIRMED
Very excited about this, I can't believe Nintendo is releasing another canon Mario title for the Wii.
Riding Yoshi also confirmed.

That had a riding Yoshi in Sunshine, but it wasn't an experience to write home about...
It looks really well done in this game. From what I saw the puzzles seem even more technical than those I saw in the first Galaxy. Also there seem to be some much more open worlds.
I wonder what the premise of this is going to be? I have really become a fan of the Mario in space concept.

Very nice. I wonder if there will be any new suits. I definitely saw the bee suit in there.

This is going to be really good. On G4 when they interviewed Reggie, he said it wouldn't be out until 2010.

You know, as awesome as that looked, and as stoked as I am to see Yoshi in it, I'm a tad underwhelmed that it appears to be the exact same game.
I mean, yea Super Mario Bros. 3 was the same game as SMB 1, but it at least looked different and had shit tons of expansions. Here it just looks like "Whoops, looks like Bowser got ahold of another giant Galaxy reactor that quickly."
I'll probably buy it anyway, but still.

The level with the saw blades cutting out the floor looks awesome.

I have no problem with them using the same engine for multiple Mario games. I wish they would produce one game every year and get 4 or 5 really good Mario games per console generation. Have a team working on the Wii 2 mario, while another continues to spit out games on the Galaxy engine.

I agree TopShelf. Keep the content coming! Fuck it, sell the engine via disk and then offer levels through the Virtual Console.

I agree with GP here on several levels.
First off, the worlds look great, I liked the sawblade one, but the giant snow level looked phenominal.
Second, I love the galaxy engine. They should use it as much as they can. Besides Galaxy 2 is significantly better than no Mario content.

I honestly think that Mario Galaxy is the best Mario game to date, so I'm really looking forward to this one.

Galaxy was nothing special, I want Mario 64 in high-definition graphics, etc.
There, I said it.

For the coop alone NSMBW looks pretty enticing, I hope the campaign is entirely new and loaded with as many secrets as one would expect from a great 2D mario.

Mario 64 was a glorified tech demo. It was glitchy as hell, easy as hell, and there was no depth. It has the distinction of being the first 3D platformer that wasn't completely awful, but the games that came after were much better.

It was still great however, I want something along the lines as that, Sunshine and Galaxy were both gimmicky to me and didn't strike me as anything straight Mario.

That's because Miyamoto is a fucking artist. Would YOU want to design the same damn game over and over again? Maybe, if you were Keiji Inafune. But Miyamoto doesn't. So he finds ways to make the experience different each time.
