Wow... that is a lot of gaming stuff. Would you keep it or run a shop?

They're keeping the store open until 9/1, so they could have sold off most of the best stuff by then at reduced prices.
But still, some of those other items, like that World Of Nintendo display case, would be worth the money in and of themselves.

From what others have said, they are not having any "Going Out Of Business" or Liquidation Sales. Even though the store is still open, they are doing business as usual. So, the inventory should be close to the same as the time the auction was posted.
If I had the money, I would buy this in a heartbeat. I would probably keep one of everything I didn't already have, and then resell the rest off through Craigslist or to local collectors. I imagine even doing it that way, I could probably get my money back on the investment.

I'd probably open a store if I had the money. Might be time to chat about a loan.

It's in Colorado. They say they'd ship the stuff to you, but don't specify if that's extra money or if non-inventory items like display cases and Repair Man Mario would be included.

They do. He says he'll ship the entire store, for free, within 750 miles. Beyond that, he says he'll charge a dollar per mile.
Still worth it. Honestly, if I were at a point in my life where I could consider opening a business, I might.

Which is a great deal. According to Google Maps, between him and me there is 1,046 miles. So it would only cost me $296 to ship.
For you North Easterners, such as Syd, it's 2,217 miles from Grand Junction, CO to Boston, MA. So just to there is $1,467 in shipping charges.

Wow, this is pretty cool.
Would love to do something like this if I had the finances to back it up, seems like it would be a lot of fun. A lot of work as well, but it would be worth it.
I would host tournaments and shit for classic games.

I would get a lease on some space here in Virginia and become an independent game store. Then write a huge paper on how Gamestop sucks balls and why you should buy from me

There's been a lot of interest. Quite a few questions asked at the bottom!
I'd love to own a game store.

Colorado? I'm there! Right now! But I don't have $30,000. That's too many zeroes for me to afford.

you know, if thirty of us each put in a grand, we could have the stuff shipped to whoever's closest, and then divvy everything up and mail it out.
realistically this is a great idea if we're serious about things and all trust each other.

What about a hundred and fifty people and two hundred bucks? I mean, there's got to be at least a hundred regular posters on this board.

I may be able to be swayed to up some money for this. But I wouldn't want to have to sort through all the games and do inventory.

I'd volunteer to do inventory, but $1000 would be kinda tough to come up with. $200 I can do.

How could you possibly divvy up this collections amongst 150 people fairly? Who decides who gets what?

I don't need all those games.. I buy 10 games for a console and only play 2-3 as it is. All those stores rip you off.. glad he's going under. Maybe not him specifically, who know how he ran his store.. but those kind of stores piss me off.
