A Disney Forum survey wrote:
Imagine if you will a world unlike any you've ever visited before: it's Middle Earth, the ancient and beautiful land forged by J.R.R. Tolkien as the backdrop for his two most well known creations, Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. Walk as a human among dwarves, elves, orcs and hobbits-all faithfully recreated and portrayed in the spirit of the original characters as they appeared in both the books and the movies. In this land you'll experience one-of-a-kind rides and attractions that bring to life some of the most memorable experiences of Tolkien's world including Bilbo's hobbit hole, the fortress at Isengard (before it was destroyed) and even the dark world of Mordor-including the terrifying volcanic Mount Doom.

Yeah, the odds of it happening aren't amazing, but then again I'd have said the same thing about Harry Potter World five years ago. This would be about a thousand times better in my opinion. Can you seriously imagine going through a recreation of Isengard, Mordor, the Shire on that kind of a scale? I would seriously blow every last penny of my savings account and go into debt to visit a park like that.

On a similar note, have any of the forumites here actually visited the HP Land at Universal Studios? I understand it's pretty damn amazing, but have yet to hear first hand reports.

If they build the Mines of Moria (which, obviously, they must), I have only one thing to say:

I. DEMAND. A. BALROG!

(Actually, thinking about it now, a trip through Moria would be a fantastic roller coaster. Just sayin.')

I demand this become reality.

Yeah, I'd definitely visit this. I love the LOTR movies. I get completely wrapped up in them, especially the extended versions. Spending a day or two walking around the locations in real life would be a blast.

I always wanted to build a metal-inspired theme park called 666 Flags. Rides would include KISS: The Rollercoaster, Helloween: The Dark Ride, and Get Punched In The Face By Manowar.

I haven't been actually to it but i was at Universal when they were building it.

They were refurbishing one of the old parts of the park and it looked like they were building a castle - obviously hogwarts. On saying that, it didn't look very big.

Closest I've come to Universal was the various Disney parks in Orlando (this was before Animal Kingdom was completed). I would be psyched as can be to go to a place like that.

* I'm embarassed to admit my first thought reading this is the likelihood of lembas bread stalls serving the baked good in leaves.
* I would be slightly more thrilled to visit the deep forests of Murkwood from The Hobbit ("lazy lob, crazy cob") than the Mines of Moria. If they don't bother with Murkwood I supposed a thrill ride based off escaping from Shelob would work. What can I say, spiders freak me out, not quite to a phobic level, but I like being exposed to what scares me.
* Other rides could be something like the barrel riding escape to Rivertown, being carried by the giant eagles or riding worgs. Riding atop the Ents, etc. etc. I could even see some sort of water ride based off the "summon spell" used to escape the Nazgul.
* The Rohan area should have some sort of equestrian stuff. They were legendary riders, no?
* Lastly, a walk through the entire park should require no less than 10.5 hours.

I must get a job at this theme park and monitor the entrance to the mines of moria so when people are waiting to get inside I can say "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!"

Let's assume it's a mixture of the two!

It'll be completely immersive...for example, you can find Frodo and Sam in the men's room cleaning each others Hobbit holes.

I want a Tom Bombadillo costume. Complete with lyrics and music. Then I can go around hitting random trees saying "Let go of that hobbit, Old Man Willow!"
