This comic has been discussed in the reading section and I believe the movie was mentioned, but just some news I thought I'd share after checking imdb:
The kid who played McLovin is NOT Kick-Ass. That kid is playing Red Mist, which I think is a much more appropriate character for him.
They actually cast an 11 year old girl to play Hit Girl. Apparently she's received awards nominations for her work on Desperate Housewife, Amityville Horror, My Friends Tigger and Pooh, and Dirty Sexy Money.
Kick-Ass will be played by Aaron Johnson, who you're most likely to know as young Eisenheim from The Illusionist. Much better than McLovin playing the part.
Hit Girl standing there saying "What a fucking douche" was one of the best last pages of a comic ever. I wouldn't be surprised if they tone it down a little, but I hope they don't.

Haha I would love to see that from this
That is Chloe Moretz who they cast for the role.
Also found a cool pic doing a side by side of the lead role as well. By looks alone the casting looks pretty stellar.
Ok, so the Kick-Ass panel met today and from what I read and saw, it was fucking unbelievable, this movie looks like its shaping up to be FANtastic (see what I did there?).
Oh and Jeebus, they are not gonna tone this down at all, apparently they are still looking for a distributor for the movie, and director, Matthew Vaughn, was quoted saying.
Matthew Vaughn wrote:
the movie is still looking for a distributor and that if a studio was interested in picking up the picture, then the studio could not PG-13 this very, very hard R movie.
The panel discussed how the team of Millar and Romita Jr. came to be as well of the status of the film (and comic). Chloe Moretz who plays the audacious Hit Girl was there as well to talk about her performance
The trailer was not shown, but IGN details how it went down.
The final bit of the trailer sounds very brutal and IMO true to the comic.
IGN wrote:
The final scene is that which will turn little cute Chloe Moretz into the coolest child actor since pre-teen Dakota Fanning. Moretz, sporting full Hit Girl attire, comes to Kick-Ass' aid in a room full of junkies. She comes to the situation sporting a spear with a very sharp blade for turning bad guys into amputees and corpses. Which she does, flashing a kiddie smile every time.
The highlight of this scene was when a thug comes out of the bathroom, surprised to see most of his crew dead or dying, and flips a butterfly switch blade on the kid.
"Oh I have one of those too," Hit Girl smiles, proving her point. She flips the blade around in her hand, the thug gets nervous, and then gets dead quick when Hit Girl slices the knife through the air and into her target.
It's awesome, again, in all sorts of so-wrong-it-has-to-be-right ways.
I am officially pumped as shit for this! Sounds like they are doing it right, thank Christ.
EDIT: Also, here is a separate interview I just found with Chloe Moretz, I cannot believe she is fucking 12 and doing such a role. She has alot of enthusiasm for the role, and is pretty adorable. Definitely gonna be the star of this flick.
That poor girl is going to be photoshopped into pictures with Pedobear for the rest of her life.
Post of the day!
I have no familarity with this comic whatsoever, but this'll most likely be something right up my alley.
Jeebus kinda got me interested, now I am real into it. Book 7 of 8 comes out the beginning of next month (can't fucking wait, have all of them up to this point).
Mark Millar is the fucking shit, and John Romita Jr's visuals have to be seen to be believed.
This movie is going to fucking rule. I picked up the Kick-ass books when I went to New York because our comic shops here are completely sub par, and I have to say making this book into a pg-13 movie is about as retarded as making a pg-13 Mortal Kombat movie... err..
Dances with Wolves 2 is gonna ROCK!

That trailer is really fucking sweet, looks like Chloe Moretz can really pull it off.

God I cannot wait for this, honestly I just want book 7 real bad now. They have pushed that back so many times now (it was originally slated for last month). They left book 6 on such a built-up and climatic point.

for some reason this made me laugh alot.

That was deliberate. While that's not the order they were listed on IMDB, I figured it'd be funnier to sandwich the G rated cartoon in between all the really adult oriented stuff.

Bumped because the movie now has an official release date of April 16th. There is also a trailer online that can be found through IMDB, not sure where it's actually hosted.
