I was browsing the main namespace the other day, and I thought, "Almost perfect, but something seems to be missing." That something is this article topic which I will now suggest:
The Top 10 Movies I Wasn't Allowed to See
"I" referring to Syd, obviously. A good example would be Scanners. Syd apparently likes this movie, as references to it are found frequently throughout the site. The catch is that he couldn't review it like he would Spaceballs or The Muppets Take Manhattan, because (based on what he's said) his parents probably never let him see it (he would have been like 1 when it was in theaters, anyway).
Thanks for considering this, and remember:
Scanners is telepathic exploding head murder.

But I eventually did see it? Just because I didn't see something when it was originally theatrically released doesn't mean I don't understand and appreciate the history behind it.

I know; again, my wording could have been a little better.
I remember the Friday the 13th videogame article you wrote, and after a while I realized that (like with the Friday the 13th movies) many kids likely got older brothers/friends to rent Scanners, just so they could see the exploding head scene. The rest of the movie (except for the finale) would have been somewhat disappointing in the gore department.

Actually, that's exactly what it means. You're also an idiot for owning the original version of The Day the Earth Stood Still, because there's no way you could possibly understand and appreciate a movie made before you were born, even though we still grew up during the Cold War.

You're either being sarcastic or you're auditioning for a job with a major studio.

My parents ended up recording that somehow. I must watch it later.

Thanks for the suggestions skinr.. interesting idea.... i dont' think you coudl write 10 seperate articles in it, but an all in one. I think there is informatino lost when you can't watch a movie in the context it was put out in. You dont' know what it's ocmpetition were at the time, the atmosphere at the time... etc... I just don't know what all substance would be there to talk about... It's an interesting idea.
I should spend more time actually reading the fruits of Syd labor maybe i could come up with some ideas for him to dismiss.
