It looks like Last Window: Midnight Promise is getting an English localization (though only as of yet in Europe.) The title is to be Last Window: The Secret of Cape West. Street date is September 17.

Now I absolutely loved Hotel Dusk and the sequel is supposed to be just as good as the first one.

How are things looking for a US release? Nothing's been announced, but seeing as America didn't get the second Another Code game, and Europe did, things are looking down.

Too bad CiNG went out of business. They made good games. Here's a picture of Kyle Hyde.

Man I loved me some Hotel Dusk so I'll definitely pick up this game if I can. My wife should still be in England come September (damn housing market) so I'll have her pick me up a copy and ship it over.

Cing didn't go out of business. They went into bankruptcy. There's a difference. They have to cut staff and projects, but they are working a second Little King's Story game.

The decision not to publish Another Code R in America was Nintendo's decision, not Cing's. Nintendo bought the publishing rights. Whether or not Nintendo publishes Last Window here is anyone's guess. It's a niche title.

Ah. The wikipedia article's use of the past tense ("CiNG was an independent game company...") misled me.

From the Wikipedia article on Little King's Story:
Quote:
Little King's Story creator Yoshiro Kimura explained that he is in the early stages of working on a sequel. "We are planning to make a sequel to Little King's Story, like Super Little King's Story," Kimura said, "but we're still in the process idea phase."[17] However the developer of Little King's Story, Cing, has declared bankruptcy due to a debt of over 200 million yen (2 million USD). This does not mean studio closure but rather that they will be tightening their financial belt, so a sequel may still be possible.[18]

Also, here's something to think about. If Nintendo is so keen on publishing Cing games, why not pay off their debt and make them a satellite studio like HAL? When Midway went bankrupt, they had $240 million worth of debt. $2 million is nothing. To an independent company like Cing it certainly is, but to a company like Nintendo, it isn't. Hell, if I hit the lottery, I'd pay off Cing's debt myself and ensure all their games got U.S. releases.
