The very first comment someone made on that on youtube was "I don't see why this was banned." I guess saying "heil Hitler" like 1,000 times in 8 minutes isn't a reason. Craziness.

Eh, it's typical of the propaganda of the time. This is tame compared to WWI, with "pictures" of Germans with Polish babies impaled on their bayonets.

That being said, the video was pretty over the top.

I also almost typed "WII" instead of "WWI". Yikes.

I don't think it was banned. I think it was old propaganda, and people see it now and label it as "OMG bann3d disney!"

it's like when you're trying to find asian porn on limewire and find preteens xXx hardcore first time anal, and its jsut a regular porn movie with a chick taking it in the buns.

Actually there were a few of these propaganda flicks, I know one was about Donald deciding whether to save his money or splurge it (advised to the latter by a slick-looking duck bearing a swastika pocketwatch I think).

That's fucked up how they portrayed the Japanese guy as piss yellow. Then again, that's 1943.

Yeah, that was weird. If you're gonna be racist, at least get your stereotypes right. Japanese people are way paler than that.

That was the stereotype back in the day, every man from japan was yellow, wore glasses, and had a small pointed moustache and giant buckteeth. At least he didnt have fangs. And yes there are comics where normal japanese soldiers had fangs.

Ironically I've also seen propaganda informing a lay citizen how to tell a chinese ally from a Japanese spy. When the cold war rolled around, our allies switched quick. Then we switched back and we're pretty much buddies with china and japan now. Moral of the story: Today's enemies are tommorow's allies. Or vise versa.

I own this cartoon Shocked

It was one of those Disney archive collections. Most of those "banned" cartoons are actually pretty tame.

And, yes, I'm nerdy enough to own a bootleg DVD of "Song of the South" - freakin' awesome film.

I have a Disney Sing-A-Long-Songs VHS from the 80s that features many Song of the South songs in it, but I've never seen the whole thing.

It's one of the main ideas that The Boss portrays in MGS 3. The idea that poltical allies and enemies change with the times. I'd like to note that it's only religious enemies that last forever, seemingly.

I think we have Song of the South on a VHS somewhere that my grandparents recorded off the Disney Channel years ago. My sister also refused to shutup about the fact that it's apparently coming or came to DVD even though she's never seen it. When I think of Song of the South however, all I can think of is Tracy Morgan

Aw, but it's such a nice wholesome film. Rolling Eyes

And sad... Poor Uncle Remus. All he wanted to do was tell children stories in his cabin when the adults weren't around.

And I like Ruth Warrick in it... And the animations... and the good old fashion, slightly inoffensive racism. Embarrassed

Apparently war brings out the racist in everyone. Here's some fine examples of Comic books from WWII:

How about getting a black stereotype in there while were at it (Which makes no sense, we weren't fighting any durring WWII, so why did the artist do it?):

That would be sweet except that a Steam Roller has to be the easiest thing in world to dodge, since its top speed is like 5mph.
