Syd said I should ask you guys if you've had this problem before and maybe have a fix. I'm currently not able to connect to Xbox Live and everything I've downloaded from the marketplace now can't be played. Arcade games all say they're trials and the full game can't be unlocked without connecting to Live, Vader's spot in the Soul Calibur IV roster is just blank and when I go to load a game in Fallout 3 or Oblivion, it says they might be damaged because some items are no longer there and I have add ons downloaded for both from the marketplace. So even though all this stuff is on my Xbox, I can't use any of it because (I'm thinking) I'm disconnected and it needs to be connected to do so. But Syd says things he downloaded and then played later disconnected worked fine. So has Microsoft just gone gay and made it so that you can't use anything without checking the license constantly or something? Because if so, that's pretty gay. Most of my games and their saves have downloaded content in them.

Has your console been replaced before?
If so, you can use the license transfer tool on the xbox website, but unfortunately it's useless until your xbox can go online. It will try to re-download all the files, but if you already have them downloaded, it won't actually re-download anything.
I had that same problem with XBLA games and the multimedia playback update. I had to be online just to stream videos from my PC.

I actually upgraded to an elite a couple months ago, but I figured since I copied everything I couldn't just re-download (like my gamertag and all it's info) to it with a flash drive, it was set. Is the problem needing to transfer licenses?

Yeah, that is likely it. You can play all the DLC content that you have bought:
1. On the console that it was originally downloaded to
2. While connected to Live with the account that purchased it
3. On the console that you have transferred your licenses to. You may transfer the licenses once per year without having to get on the phone with customer service.

The pathetic thing is even free stuff requires license transfers. You even have to be online to watch free videos you downloaded if you haven't transferred the license for them.
