I dont know if any of you guys have experienced this at all. My WOW account was hacked this past week and I recovered it and put an authenticator on it. Then a couple days later, which I hadn't been playing during, I get an email from Blizzard saying my account has been closed for trying to adversly alter the economy of the game. Has anyone had something similar happen to them? I've obviosly appealed the closiung of my account I'm just wondering how likely it is that they'll even look at it.

In a way, each of us has an El Guapo to face. For some, shyness might be their El Guapo. For others, a lack of education might be their El Guapo. For us, El Guapo is a big, dangerous man who wants to kill us. But as sure as my name is Lucky Day, the people of Santa Poco can conquer their own personal El Guapo, who also happens to be *the actual* El Guapo!

They will probably give you all of your shit back, however you should be concerned about how you lost the account in the first place.

Oh, it sometimes takes a week or so.

Granted, this is based on my knowledge of the game almost 3 years ago now. I haven't played in a very long time.

How do you alter the economy of the game? It has the word "warcraft" in the fucking title, so obviously you're going to alter the economy.

The people who hack into your account take your gold/sell your items for gold. They then sell that gold for real life money.

EDIT: Also my account got hacked last week too. I opened a ticket and a GM who got my stuff back and then helped me solve the problem.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. If someone has accessed your account from a different location to you they seem to know about this.

It was probably used as part of one of those Chinese gold-farming scams.

yea i just callled them and they reinstated my account and recovered my items for me. I guess when they detect that your toon is farming gold they auto ban the account to maintain at least some game integrity until they are contacting by the actual owner of the account.
