Ahh.. This actually looks really good!..It's definitely targeted at the nerdy video game hipster crowd....but I suppose thats our demographic now isn't? Nonetheless I"ll take great pleasure seeing Michael Cera beat the shit out of that emo guy with the make-up.

This is a comic movie that my wife's actually willing to go see. After she read Kick-Ass in graphic novel form, she refused to go see the movie, so I had to take a day off of work and find time to kill time until it started.

Actually, I've only read the first book so far, but didn't that fight scene at the end seem really weird and out of place?

Hell no, read the rest of the series and it will all be perfectly in place.
Also, you motherfucker, you removed the Polish from your signature.

I have a friend who reads the books and says they're pretty good, and the film looks interesting as well. I'll definitely go see it.

I watched the first trailer and thought to myself, "This looks fucking stupid."
I watched the second trailer and thought to myself, "This looks fucking stupid enough to be awesome."
The first one explained the plot, but gave no hint about the vibe of the movie. It seems like it is fun and possibly funny.
My wife will definitely not go to this one, but I'll be sure to pick it up at Redbox come November.

Shigeru Miyamoto Given Advance Screening of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World
Director Edgar Wright has managed to secure permission to include music from The Legend of Zelda in the upcoming film adaptation of Scott Pilgrim, but only after showing the film to Shigeru Miyamoto himself.
In a Wired interview conducted by star Michael Cera (via GoNintendo), Wright said that he needed Miyamoto's permission to include the tunes in a dream sequence.
"When I was writing to Nintendo to get permission, I was saying, 'This music is like nursery rhymes to a generation," Wright said.
The comic series is heavily inspired by video games, with multiple references to classic franchises. Wright added that Cera gets "all misty-eyed" any time Super Mario Bros. 3 was mentioned, with Cera saying that the game is "deep in my DNA."
Aside from the Zelda music, Scott Pilgrim will feature Beck and Broken Social Scene playing music for the fictional bands Sex Bob-omb and Crash and the Boys (via Pitchfork).
The film wll be out August 13. |

I don't understand the point. So, he wants to date this girl, but she has seven evil ex-boyfriends. So, her tires have some traction. On top of that, two of her ex-boyfriends are IDENTICAL TWINS. Okay, stop. To hell with her! Girl is a fucking whorebag. Kid is a moron for wanting to be with her. Not interested.
Loser falls in love with girl? Interesting story.

That's the whole point of the series: The fact that he's going for all this trouble for a girl that might not be worth it. Yanno, Chick Flick material sandwiched between fighting and gaming references.
Or so I heard.
Still, Movie's worth checking out.

I dunno. I'm kind of sick of Michael Cera. Arrested Development was good, Superbad was pretty good, everything else he's done thus far is complete crap and he pretty much plays the exact same character every time.

Well he fits this character pretty well, that is a kinda dumb slacker that cares. And yea as Atman said he being a ho-bag is kind of the point. The power of love blah blah/

I agree with this. I don't think he's acting, he's just reading lines.
He pretty much could have been written out of everything else he was in and I'm pretty sure nobody would have noticed anything missing.

I'm currently reading the comics too. I'm looking forward to the movie. I like that they cast Anna Kendrick in the movie as i loved her in Up In The Air and Rocket Science.
