At one point MegaShark (apparently megaladon was the size of the Golden gate bridge) jumps out of the water and eats a passenger plane about 20,000 ft in the air. WHAT THE FUCK WOULD ENTICE A SHARK TO EAT A BIG PIECE OF METAL IN THE SKY! Anyway the acting is top notch and the special effects would make Bay come. So go see it.

5 minutes of awesome does NOT justify 90 minutes of crap.
Shitloads of "tension" and stock footage leading to a lackluster final battle between said creatures.
It's made by The Asylum; what else you need to know?
There, I saved you $1 at Redbox.
Sharktopus on the other hand looks so goddamn awful to the point of being concentrated awesome (YMMV):
Oh dear god I saw this movie with a couple friends... It was so horribly bad that I really can't describe it outside of an entire scene consisting of mixing SCIENCE! and two of the people having sex for little to no reason.

Well, saying that the acting is top notch and the special effects would make Bay come would give such an impression, yes.
NO ONE JOKE ANYMORE AtmanRyu takes people too seriously. I'm hitler, do you think I'm hitler?
I was merely calling attention to the amazing fail that was the movie.

I got this movie for give bucks at wal mart. I feel that I got my moneys worth. The first time I saw it I got high and laughed so hard that I fell out of my chair. The second time my friends and I made a drinking game out of it. It looks harious mixed in with my other movies, and it always makes fir a fun conversation.

Eh, it still can't top the scene from MegaPiranha in which said creature leaps out of the ocean and devours an entire helicopter. SyFy original movies ftw!
(That said, I will go check this out at some point. Sounds right up my "wonderfully horrible" movie day alley.)

This is also a "SyFy original movie", most of which are made by Asylum.

Question
are MegaPiranha and Megashark vs. Giant octopus made by the same people. There are some recurring themes.

Ah, I somehow missed Shark vs. Octo being advertised on SyFy, so I didn't realize it was an Original Movie as well! Thanks for clearing that up Jeeb.
As for whether they were made by exactly the same people, I dunno. But if you like this kind of movie, I promise that SyFy will never steer you wrong.
What I don't get is how they manage to make such amazing and awesome mini-series, and such godawful movies.

Honestly I think a shark imitating ryu hayabusa's izuna dive with an airliner is much funnier that that other thing.
