WHY DO I CONTINUE TO PUNISH MYSELF BY WATCHING THESE FILMS!!!???

Oh well, at least they got Wesker about 90% right.

I guess it isn't completely terrible... And less ADD now. Alice is the Highlander... But there can be more than One.

So I take it it was bad? My Dad really wanted to see it but I knew it would suck. You have to admit it looked pretty in the trailer though.

One of my friends loves these movies, but he loves zombie movies and Milla Jovavich(how do you spell that?).

So, was it better or worse than the previous two? Thats the important question.

I think that the gaming community needs to accept that no movie producer is ever going to make a faithful translation of a game to film, its like some sort of 11th commandment. Sad

I would like to meet the people that make movie trailers. Especially trailers for really bad movies. I'm sure the New Resident Evil movie was okay, but i can bet it was nothing like the trailer said it would be. People who make movie trailers have to, in a nutshell, lie to the public and are a crafty bunch.

See, I loved the second one because it was an awesomely bad movie. There were also a lot of nods to the games. This new movie is basically a remake of Mad Max 2 with zombies and Umbrella thrown in. So my order would go:

Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior
Resident Evil: Apocalypse
Resident Evil: Extinction
Resident Evil: Genesis

So if you hated the second movie because it was an ADD film on speed, you'll probably like this movie a lot more.

Perfectly acceptable sentiment, but come on, the adaptations don't need to be that bad. God, when I watched the first one and she did that slo-mo kung fu shit on the zombie dobermans, I wanted to kill myself and whoever wrote that. And sadly enough, Resident Evil movies aren't even the worst. Need I remind any of you of anything Uwe Boll has done?

I remember watching Doom and thinking that it was going to be pretty close to the game, then they started with that retarded mutation plot twist. Mad

yes, but those nods to the second and third game were badly done and fucked. it was more like "yeah... I played those games... fuck you."

at least uwe boll has no idea what teh games he makes movies for are about.

I never thought that was the case until now. I think you might be on to something.

I'm just holding out for a prequel where Chris and Jill explain what happened to the S.T.A.R.S. team in the mansion. I know the mansion that led to the Hive was meant to be the Spencer Estate but they could easily retcon it as RE0 showed that there were two mansions in the woods, one of which led to Birkin's lab. I believe Jill mentioned that something happened involving S.T.A.RS. in the Arklay Mountains during the second film anyway.

Yes, I know this is highly unlikely and if it happened it would probably be bad.

On the other hand, Resident Evil 4 could make for a decent adventure film... or I could just watch Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and pretend that Harrison Ford is playing Leon.

Resident evil 4 is already an action/B-movie blend, right down to the explosion at the end.

One thing that grinds my gears is that everyone is saying this is the last RE movie, but the film still has the gall to end on a cliffhanger. Of course, the cliffhanger just digs a bigger hole for itself to fall into, so maybe it's a good thing the series has finally imploded on itself.

Nonetheless, if this film somehow makes money and we get a fourth one... I know I'll still be there to see it. Crying

My girlfriend dragged me to this one and I fully expected to loathe every second of it.

By no stretch of the imagination would I call it a "good" movie, but I ended up finding it to be an extremely "enjoyable" one. It was way, way, way better than the second one and I swear to god, if they don't deliver on the promise of the ending....

MAJOR SPOILERS

I will kill someone. I NEED to see an army of Millas blowing shit up. That might be my ideal film.

END SPOILERS.

Resident Evil: Extinction may have been billed as the end of the cinematic trilogy, but that doesn't mean the series is actually over. The weekend before Extinction opened in theaters, Jill Valentine actress Sienna Guillory said there was talk of a fourth entry focusing on her character, but that was contingent on the film's box office success. That wasn't an issue, with Extinction racking up $24 million its opening weekend.

It didn't take long for someone to up and ask: does that mean Resident Evil 4 is on? Sci Fi Wire talked to Resident Evil movie producer Jeremy Bolt, who actually suggested the next sequel might focus on another character from the series' universe, Claire Redfield.

"We haven't changed our mind [about working on another one]," said Bolt. "We want to be respectful. I think the thing is, we're in the middle of Death Race. We haven't really focused on [another Resident Evil]. Certainly we'd like to look at it, but I wouldn't want to say we were or weren't doing anything at this point. It's too early."

So, there you go. Another RE movie in the works it seems.
