The Usebombs team is trying to find a place in Denver. We've found a nice place in North Montbello within Denver, but we've heard it's a relatively bad neighborhood... but it seems that people say that because there are a lot of minorities living in the area, not because of actual crime. We've looked at the neighborhood on Google's 3D maps and it doesn't look trashy; it looks quite pleasant actually. I know there are some people here from the general area, so I was wondering if anyone had any advice in this regard. Any help would be much appreciated.

Aren't you in New York? What motivates one to move from NY to CO? Hoping to stalk Matt & Trey?

Strangely enough, I'm hiking in Denver with my Dad this week. This should be interesting.

But as for good neighborhoods, don't go to Denver, go to Boulder. It's like a utopia there...

Unfortunately, I don't know that much about Denver.... Here in Colorado Springs, however, are several nice office buildings around. One of the nicer ones is Offices at the Park near Palmer Park, in the middle of town more or less. Not downtown, per se. My parents used to run a business there, the office there are pretty nice.

For Denver though, I've got no idea. Come to the Springs! Very Happy

I moved out here to CO a few months ago. We're all living up in the mountains in South Park (Fairplay). Getting out of New York is simple... it fucking sucks. Especially upstate where Fort Drum is, because the military gets so much money for housing almost all of the places hiked up their rent because they know that particular stipend will meet it. It's a very "fuck the locals, hail the milatary" attitude. I mean, I have nothing against the military directly, but there are a lot of asshole GIs living around there too, so most bars and what few other places there are to go to up there are a hassle. The place we're looking at now is a 5 bedroom, 2 bath house for $1000 a month. My mother was paying the same for a shitty 2 bedroom, 1 bath split-level apartment with a shitty landlord and bees all within the walls.

I love Summit County, but the cost of living there is higher, due to the rich folk, granted there are a ton of jobs that come with housing but we're moving as a group... and none of us are snowboard instructors, heh. Plus, we have connections in Denver. We'll have access to playing gigs, doing studio work, and art display things (can't think of a term right now), all with a cost of living that is extremely low to me, especially coming from New York.

True. I never considered the cost of LIVING there, we were only staying at a hotel there for a few nights last year. But from what we saw, it's as if no crime exists. I didn't hear a single police siren or shout during my stay. It was fucking SCARY, because I come from Kansas City. It's an abnormal day if no one gets shot or stabbed in that place.

Oh yea. Pretty much anywhere in summit county is awesome. I hear there's a big influx of hot Brazilian chicks that move there to work and send money home to their families. In Colorado in general, everything seems cleaner and everyone seems much more friendly. I feel like I have much more capacity to be the kind of person I want to be here than back home.

Yeah, and the hood is only blocks away from the children's hospital and UMKC. The frequent closed roads and detours make for an interesting time if you aren't familier with where not to go.

That's why I moved away to the country. So much less stressful.

That's the thing too, with wanting to go into the city. We have one car for the four of us and I am the only one with no license, so living in the city will facilitate getting to where we need to go.

Im in Denver, sorry I didnt see this earlier

Seriously, north denver is the shit, not in a good way. South Denver is where it's at, only a 15 minute drive to the center of downtown, and some real reasonable places all up and down I-25

Stay away from wheatridge and Lakewood though, places are not fun, unless you like being stolen from
