Megan Fox dropped from third 'Transformers'
Published: 5/19/10, 10:05 PM EDT

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Megan Fox, who made her name as Shia LaBeouf's sultry love interest in the first two "Transformers" movies, has been dropped from the third.

Paramount Pictures said Wednesday that Fox's option was not picked up for part three in the blockbuster Michael Bay series. The studio, which released the first two movies about shape-shifting machines doing battle, declined to give further details or say who would replace the 24-year-old actress.

Fox's publicist, Dominique Appel, did not return a message left at her office seeking comment.

Fox, notorious for making attention-grabbing comments to the media, engaged in a public spat with director Bay around the release of part two last summer. But Bay later defended her and said he looked forward to working with her on part three.

In announcing "Transformers 3" in October on his blog, http://www.michaelbay.com, he wrote: "P.S. Megan Fox, welcome back. I promise no alien robots will harm you in any way during the production of this motion picture."

"Transformers" from 2007 and the 2009 sequel "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" have made more than $1.5 billion worldwide. Production is scheduled to begin this month on the third installment, with a release date set for July 1, 2011, Paramount said.

Fox also starred last year as the title character in "Jennifer's Body," playing a possessed cheerleader who preys on high school boys. The movie, written by Oscar-winning "Juno" writer Diablo Cody, made a disappointing $16.2 million domestically.

Next, Fox will star opposite Josh Brolin and John Malkovich in the supernatural Western "Jonah Hex," scheduled for release June 18.

Maybe the studio finally realized she is a terrible actress, and really isn't all that hot after all and not worth her negative publicity.

Either that or Michael Bay was more offended at her calling him a "dork with no social skills" than he let on. Either way, good riddance, here's hoping its the beginning of the end of her short career.

I thought that she was decent for the part she played. At this point I think that changing a lead human character in the film series would be more harmful than good.

I am reminded of the actress reassignment for Evelyn O'Connell in The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. It wasn't that Maria Bello was a bad actress, but rather Rachel Weisz had been in two previous films and you can't just replace a person and expect people to buy into it. That and the film sucked.

I guess in my mind Megan Fox isn't as bad as what the alternative might be.

I felt the same way about Rhodey in Iron Man 2.

No big loss as far as I'm concerned. All I could focus on, in the few frames they showed up in, were those mutant toe thumbs of hers. It's like a girl with armpit hair, just makes me want to lean over in my seat and vomit a little bit. And considering how good Transformers II was... well, I guess they're making another one because a bunch of r-tards paid to go see that flaming piece of smegma and Michael Bay isn't done bilking people just yet. Just another one of the many examples of my childhood favorites being keelhauled by Hollywood (just wait for Jerry Bruckheimer's Thundercats, with Vin Diesel as Panthro [actually, that would be good casting] and Chris Helms as Lion-O).

You know it's not because of the commentary that she made, either, because LeBeouf or however the fuck you spell it is guilty of the same damn thing, with Transformers II as well as the latest Indiana Jones.

And I liked Cheadle better as Rhodes. Sue me.

Who likes role-playing games? Me. Way too goddamn much.

I'll be completely honest, seeing as I haven't seen the movies or follow any shitty gossip, I don't even know what this chick looks like.

The difference there though is that Rachel Weisz is a much better actress, and much better looking than Megan Fox. Also, it's pretty clear Transformers 3 is going to blow ass no matter what bimbo they throw in.

megan fox is hot. thats right i said it. not the hottest (thats jessica alba) but still hot. at any rate, her character was totally unnecessary IMO. she didnt really bring anything to the first movie, and in the second movie, all she had to do was bring that piece of the all spark. that was it. so, losing her wont ruin the franchise. michael bay directing it will.
