I just realized that while there are even trade-in offers (the old model with a wiimote and nunchuk for the new one) for the black Wii, anyone who invested in the virtual console. WiiWare, or even select games with non-transferrable save files (lookin at your Brawl and Darkside Chronicles) will have to repurchase/repeat progress again to get that same stuff on the new console.
Given that observation, how well do you think this thing will sell?

I don't like it because it's glossy. It'll just look like crap after awhile like my black Wiimote.

If I really wanted the black Wii (which I don't), I'd just spend $20 on a replacement shell on ebay. Trading in your wii + 2 wiimotes/nunchucks + money just for the same thing in a different color is retarded.

I just spray painted mine. Used some Krylon Camouflage black paint and gave it like 2-3 light coats. Covered everything that needed to be with painter's tape and used Vaseline to protect the "Power", "Reset" etc. Worked like a charm. No need to wait for Nintendo to come out with a black Wii, or any other color for that matter.
DIY ftw.

I agree. It would be less costly and time consuming to learn how to properly repaint a white one than it would be to redo save files on black unit.
