Yesterday afternoon, my mom wrecked her car and two people posing as good samaritans ROBBED her of about $250. It'll take up to a week before someone can get out to check the damage on the car. Because of these set-backs, she's basically had to cancel Christmas at the apartment (no one lives with her unless you count Vader the cat, but I visit for a week every so often) and will be stopping by my work Sunday (borrowing a friend's car) to drop off her presents for myself and my sister. And because of work and the rest of the family I live with's schedule I'm looking at spending Christmas alone (I work Sundays and the rest of the fam is going up to the Georgia mountains for the whole Christmas weekend). So...anyone else have your holiday go awry (even if it's not nearly as epic as this instance)?

Lets just say me and my extended family have had to buy new TVs when the old ones decided christmas was a great night to leave. Christmas eve and I'm playin guard.

Sorry about your christmas though. Sounds like a nasty stretch of luck. I know X-mas supposed to be the most wonderful time of the year, but besides the accidental fires and public drunkeness July 4 doesnt have the shit that december brings.

Nice avatar, though to be perfectly honest I liked the one before a bit more.

Actually I slightly misunderstood the situation, the $250 mentioned in the phone conversation was how much her insurance deductible is (although in an abstract sense you could say they indeed stole the $250 [in addition to whatever the assholes got from my mom]). I thought it was a little odd she'd have that kind of money on her. I've been thinking that she'd probably make it on the news or at least the story would (if they didn't think an interview would be worth the time).

Sorry to hear about those TVs man. I'm imagining it wasn't easy trying to find an open electronics store on Christmas Day.

As for public drunkenness, I figure St. Pat's is the reigning king of the holidays (except in Ireland oddly enough).

Lastly regarding the change of avatars, I just got bored with the Dr. Orpheus one, and figured I'm a lot like Jim Kuback anyway heh.
