Today I learned about a new food. It is called an egg loaf.

I have never seen an egg loaf, but apparently they were popular in the past.

Have you ever seen one? Have you ever eaten one?

I've heard of it and I've seen pictures, but never seen one in real life.

I've seen egg cubers before that take an individual hard boiled egg(shelled of course) and makes it a square egg that looks like that egg loaf when it is cut.

What are you supposed to do with it though? Eat it as is? I don't see a whole lot of cooking options with it.

It looks vaguely like deviled eggs. I personally love eggs in general, so I'll probably end up trying this.

It must have really hurt the chicken to lay an egg like that.

Just spend an hour or so store hopping, I'm sure you will find it. I can't specify because we have different stores down here than you do up there.

Run into the the nearest grocery store, waving your arms all over, screaming about how you demand egg loaf to appease your mighty tummy.

Wouldn't you get the same result by simply hardboiling some eggs?

I think people figured that out and that's why these aren't around anymore. Or are they? I've never seen it before.

It's a Japanese product, so good luck finding any around here. It's all about efficiency, why spend time buying eggs, boiling water, boiling eggs, peeling eggs, and slicing eggs when you can just jump straight to a food imitation substitute? Very Happy

I can't make out what the top line says, nor can I find any other pictures googling around beyond that one, but the middle line just says "Boil Egg", and the bottom line says, loosely, "The dish became even more delicious!"

Fernin,
What would an egg loaf look like as pixel art?

^ About like that, yeah...

Really, though, picture the bar you control in Arkanoid or Breakout, color it plain white, that's about what the egg loaf would look like in pixel form. A rounded rectangle, basically. Stack a bunch of egg enemies from Burger Time on top of each other and hack off their legs, and you've got sliced egg loaf sprites.

...Why do you ask, anyway?
