A TASMANIAN man bashed and choked his girlfriend until she blacked out after he tried to leave the scene where she engaged him in a threesome.

The Supreme Court in Burnie heard the woman brought her female friend along on a camping trip last April and confessed to her partner, Phillip Hilton Bissett, that she was bisexual.

She plied Bissett, 44, with alcohol to make him "more receptive" to the notion of a threesome.

The court heard the three engaged in some "mild intimacy" but, as the two women became more involved with each other, Bissett decided to leave.

He drove off but, drunk, crashed into bushes. His partner ran after him and tried to take the car keys from him.

By this stage others in the camping area were looking on.

As the woman again grabbed at the keys, Bissett slapped her and pushed her to the ground.

She tried to run off, but Bissett punched her to the head, chest and back before choking her until she lost consciousness.

The victim suffered bruising and a sore neck but recovered.

Bissett spent the night and next day in police custody.

He pleaded guilty yesterday to two counts of assault.

Justice David Porter said the relationship continued and the pair had since become engaged.

"She has been reluctant to see the matter pursued," Justice Porter said.

"I am told, and I accept, that there was no violence in this relationship, nor has there been since."

The judge said domestic violence cases were normally considered a serious breach of trust in a relationship.

"I accept that you are remorseful and that there is little likelihood of repetition," he said.

"It must be noted that the events were witnessed or heard by a number of children and young persons."

Bissett received a three-month jail sentence, wholly suspended on condition he is of good behaviour for two years.

For all we know, the woman could've been really ugly and her friend even uglier.

I've actually been in a similar situation before. Except I walked in on them fooling around. Let me just say it purged the whole threesome fantasy out of my mind. Let it be known the other girl was of the heavier set variety...and by heavier I mean much heavier...and by that I mean 250+.

Well, honestly, I'm not all up for a threesome. I mean, theoretically it's cool but in practice? It's a lot of work and honestly, I don't really want to share sex time with someone else other than my lady. I mean I'd be more for two chicks but either way, I don't want a threesome.
I wouldn't bash her head in or anything but I'd have to decline. Or at the very least think about it for a while.

Some guys can be pretty prudish about stuff like that. My brother would have probably reacted the same way (except for the beating and choking that is; he used to get pissed at me for getting chicks naked on webcams). Also, he probably realized that she'd been cheating on him for a while with this other girl which can be an uncomfortable realization.

I turned down a threesome once, with two pretty hot chicks too, because one of them was my best friend's girlfriend. And it was in his house. While he was in the other room. I resisted for as long as I could, and he came into the room and caught her rubbing up on me and kissing the other girl before the temptation became too much for me. Thankfully he never blamed me for it and got mad at the right person.

I was pretty pissed that that was probably my one chance for a threesome and I had to turn it down.

I've never really been into the whole sex for pleasure thing. I only condone it with my girl, since it eases marriages alot and relieves potential depression.

It's easy to say you would, and honestly, if a guy didn't feel any attachments to the women in question, I'm sure that'd be like asking someone if they wanted a free, no-strings-attached million dollars.

Being in love puts the kibosh on that. Seriously, if my wife ever entertained the idea of a threesome, with another guy OR girl, I could never see her the same way, because I'm selfish. I don't share, and the fact that she would want to in that hypothetical scenario means the bond we have is breached by another person. We are all human, and I married my wife as a sign that I didn't want another woman or anyone else in our relationship, and I can only hope she feels the same. Basically, inviting just one person into a threesome, no matter the gender, nullifies any "I love only you"s you've ever gotten. It doesn't matter if it's not about love, because we've been taught, and I've succumbed, to believe that sex should be monogamous, because whether it's two people in love just shellacking their genitals together or god honest lovemaking, it's a bond between those two people.

One night stands and such don't count. You generally go into those kind of relationships knowing there's nothing but sex. I'm talking about any sexual relationship that has any kind of meaning beyond that, period.
