I know it'll be great, but thanks for the recommendation Tebor! I forgot all about it, but I just scanned it at work today. I'd borrow it to listen or copy to my computer, but it's tapes not CD's so I can't listen (tape deck in my car's broken). Just gonna buy the damn thing of iTunes and be done with it, but prolly not until after Christmas

Next book I intend to read (Or rather, audiobook I intend to listen to as it will be much better that way) is
"Make Love*
*The Bruce Campbell Way".
Who wants to get me an itunes gift card for Christmas so I can listen? |

I finished up The Hundredth Man, I got really into it about 50 pages in. Good read, but got way too action movie for my tastes towards the end. This isn't fucking Fox networks, let's leave out the firearms and boat chases.
Going through Signal to Noise right now, it's pretty cool so far. Not what I expected, but still interesting.
Am I the only person who reads fiction novels for entertainment?

Well, once I get a chance, I plan to start reading "Night Watch", which has been newly translated into English. Also, for Christmas I asked for "To Hell And Back: An Autobiography" by Meat Loaf.

The movie version sucked, and I don't think the entertainment was lost in translation.

I got sidetracked from Signal to Noise by George Carlin's Brain Droppings.
George Carlin is the man.

I know he also came out with a book called "When is God Bringing the Porkchops?" or something like that. A book I need to get ahold of is "A Bump on the Side of the Head"

Spending a week on a boat in the Carribean gave me quite a lot of time to read, so here's what I knocked down in a week:
Star Wars: Labyrinth of Evil
It's an ok precurser to Revenge of the Sith, it contradicts how things go down in the Clone Wars cartoon during Palpatine's kidnapping from Coruscant which kinda makes me dislike it a little because the Clone Wars cartoon is really awesome.
Star Wars: Shatterpoint
Ah, now this I liked. Written by Matthew Stover who wrote the novelization of ROTS (which I also highly recommend), this is about Mace Windu and how much of a bad-ass he is. Windu has to track down his former padawan who was assigned to train guerilla resistance forces on a Seperatist controlled jungle planet and he discovers that there is a bigger conflict there than the Clone Wars.
The Da Vinci Code
I don't why everybody makes such a fuss about him using false documents to base it around, it's fiction and damn good fiction at that.
Kingdom of Fear
Hunter S. Thompson at his gonzo best. Reflections and stories of his past and some absolutely insane accounts of things like terrorizing Jack Nicholson with flood lights and elk hearts.
And I'm currently working on Next by Michael Crichton, so far genetics and oranguntans that speak dutch and swear in french, I'll let you know how it goes.

I would like to read a biography about my life. It would be the most hardcore thing ever.
Right now, I'm reading something called "High wizards" or something.

I've been reading a lot of reference material lately. Starting Strength by Mark Rippetoe is what every new lifter should get. I've been lifting for about 14 months now, and I still found things wrong with my form thanks to his book. And Zen Training by Katsuki Sekida is a good read about the application of the practice of meditation in western societies.

I've been on and off reading this interesting piece of literature:
Homophobia: A History
by Byrne Fone
I'm at page 65 of 421. The book is very historical, dating back to the days before homosexuality, with the Greeks, explaining what was and wasn't sexually acceptable in that time. I've only started the chapter on the following time frame: 100 B.C.E to 400 C.E. I am very interested in historical views on sexuality, so if anyone has any suggested reads, I'd be delighted to hear them!

God, I hate when people refuse to use B.C. and A.D. I realize the impulse to be religiously neutral, but using B.C.E. and C.E. always seems liked a veiled attempt to erase the significance religion has played in the history of human civilization. [/rant]
As to the topic at hand, in grad school I had to read Michel Foucault's "The History of Sexuality: An Introduction, Volume I" (there is no volume 2). It mainly deals with aspects of power (then again so do all of Foucault's works).
