I downloaded the SMB2 JAPAN rom from this site, when you unzip it you get two files. I have the FCE Ultra emulator, but when I try to open one of the two rom files it gives me an error message. please help, detailed plz

I didn't double check, but I'm almost positive that you did not get the SMB rom from THIS site. While I'm not going to say we're anti-piracy, it is illegal and I don't think Syd would foolishly make it so publicly available.
I don't know what the FCE Ultra emulator is or how it runs. The rom works perfectly fine for me in RockNES. Are you sure FCE can play .fds type roms? I'd suggest using a different emulator either way. Maybe the two have compatability problems.

yeah, RockNES is the way to go. Just make sure you get the newest one, cause I tried an old version and it sucked.
