If you could make a remake of a game for current gen consoles what would it be?
I think Jet force Gemini was always an under appreciated shooter for the N64 that could use some graphical upgrades and the vanilla dual joystick (or wii remote) controls.

I want to see the first Sin & Punishment game redone with pointer controls. It's the only way I can see it working.

I'd personally like to remake the first two Metal Gear games the MSX ones. The first one had no dialog, other then "INFILTRATE OUTER HEAVEN" The second one, while was pretty good, did not go into detail about Snake's Relationship with Big Boss and it would be a great game since the set up for it was amazing
I'd also like to get an official remake of Metroid II: the Return of Samus. That was one of my favorite games and I can no longer find my own Cart. I know that there is a fan remake in the process but who knows if that'll ever be done.

I'd remake earth defense force. I know that sounds like a waste, but I think I could make an awesome game out of it.
EDIT -
I mean this game, not the SNES r-type wannabe:
best fifteen dollars I ever spent.

I played that. It's pretty engaging for a cheapo PS2 game.

I got it on the 360, and I must say that I had more fun with it than I did wit hGears of War and Dark Sector combined.
Sure the game is cheap, cheesy, and glitchy, but it had something a lot of games lack these days: it was fun.

Did it have a colony of giant ants in the first stage?

Yay for Jet Force Gemini! I loved that game!
... too bad Rare's with Microsoft now.
I'd say FFVII, but that's as unoriginal as I can get. FFVI, on the other hand... that would be awesome!
...
......
A FFXIII producer said it can't be done with their current workforce. It'd take around 10 years or so. Ridiculous. At least we can still dream...
I'd say Castlevania III. That was one of the best in the series and the first one has been reimagined too many times already. I would kill for a good Castlevania III update.
I forgot DK 64, that would be awesome in current gen... And Maybe it would be cool to see how a 3D super star wars would work out. And a not "Beast Rider" golden axe game.

FFVI definitely needs a remake, or at least ported to the DS.
I'd like to see some more Jet Set Radio games as their innovative open world exploration model is still all the rage today.
An Actraiser remake would be pretty awesome.

I would remake something that had potential, but sucked. Like maybe the Mega Man Legends games. I would not remake anything that was actually good in the first place, especially a Final Fantasy game, because THE GAME WAS GOOD IN THE FIRST PLACE AND IS STILL FUCKING GOOD. Also, most of those remakes have fucking sucked. The only remakes that have caught me as especially "done right" are Kirby: Nightmare In Dreamland and Kirby Super Star Ultra.
No Zelda remakes, no Mario remakes, no Metroid remakes, no Castlevania remakes, no Final Fantasy remakes. NO NO NO NO NO NO.
I would second an ActRaiser remake. ActRaiser was fun, but the SimCity aspects of it always seemed a little half-assed. If they could find a way to make the game a little more involving, that could be cool.
Kid Icarus is a game that's just SCREAMING to be remade. It's the best example I can think of that has awesome potential, yet poor execution.
Immediately following the release of Brawl, rumors began flying out that beloved game development Factor 5 was under contract from Nintendo to develop a new Kid Icarus game. Unfortunately, Factor 5 shut down in May 2009, so if the project ever existed, it is now dead. The project may not have even been Kid Icarus. All that was known for sure was that they were working on a secret "flight project" for Nintendo. It very well could have been Pilotwings for all we know. They were also working on a secret Wii project for LucasArts, which is widely assumed would have been Rogue Squadron IV.
Nintendo really dropped the ball. They should have bailed out/purchased Factor 5. They would have made their money back on those two releases alone.
true. even remake done w/the help of moses wouldnt save them

Even though it was already fucking GREAT, I would love to see a next gen "Brave Fencer Musashi". Maybe a sequel, at least. That was honestly one of my favorite Square games.

I would like to see more games like Punch-Out Wii. I'm not really sure what that's classified as, though. It's certainly not a remake, but it's not really a sequel either. A reset? A reimagining? Whatever it is, it's awesome.
