Has anyone here ever used one of these things before? I was thinking about using this as an option for broadcasting my wedding this summer. Do they really work anywhere, or only places where there's cell phone reception? Can you rent them, or do you have to sign into a long term contract? I've looked online for answer, but I find this forum to be far more effective.

Hm. I've never used one myself, but my Aunt has one through her company. (She's in construction and has to travel to job sites all over the place.) Since they give it to her I can't speak to the money/contract issue, but I can tell you that she has yet to find a place where it doesn't work, including places that cell phones don't. I've been very jealous of it for a long time lol.

I hope that helps, at least a little bit.

My dad had a VZ access card that was used by my entire family instead of regular internet for a while.

It had a decent connection speed

It worked great until my dad canceled it because somebody forgot to disconnect it after they chose the wrong connection. There were only two but someone managed to click the wrong one

i would suggest just checking w/the website. since most of these are from wireless companies, i would assume they require a contract of sorts. unless they have Cricket up there in Canada.

I work for Sprint as a salesman but i also used to sell Verizon, T-Mobile, and Alltel. Would recommend Sprint or Verizon's. Mainly sprint's, since 4g will be available in all major cities soon. they only work where cell phone service is avaiable and we all know that verizon is available everywhere. sprint also roams for free off of verizons towers, so equal coverage there. you have to have a contract, and there are data limitations on certain plans. they arent broadband quick, but nothing you'd be frustrated with. what kind of cell phone do you have? have you ever considered using your phone as a modem? if you have unlimited data on your plan, it is equally as fast, much for convenient, and free...
