I like how it's looking but it just feels a bit bare. I know the article is in the prime light of the page, but it just feels lonely. I don't know if it's the font or if I'm used to seeing pages with a bajillion things all around it.

opinion time, bros.
I was thinking of having a news ticker sort of thing on the front page, to alert people to new stuff that might not be on the front page. Which has better placement, and what can I do to make it look better, in your opinion?
option 1, option 2:
or option 3:

Option 1 for me. Definitely not 3 though. If it's supposed to tell the people about the newest articles, it's better that it doesn't blend in with the rest of the banner so much as option 3, and option 2 seems weird somehow

I say 3. It definitely needs to be at the top, so 2 is out, and I think 3 fits better than 1.

3 because the others just do not work with your design. 1 blends in with the articles section and 2 just looks ugly and misplaced where it is. 3 gives it a nice transition from the banner to the articles, and is placed well in comparison to the others.

looks like it's either one or three. personally I like three, but I can see why a fair amount of people prefer one.
I must meditate on this.

Current content expected to be available on launch day:
-The nine E&N articles that I've posted in the OPP board, plus some surprises from Josh, Myself, and some mystery guests, including an amazing interview.
-Collaborations, "new" and old: 6
-Seven old pieces from my notebooks.
-Eleven articles from my previous site, TeH Internet. These are going to be the earliest articles from the site's initial launch, including the articles brought over from Penguin Weekly. I thought it would be a nice way to see how far I've progressed as a writer, personally. I've also "fixed" some of them, due to missing pictures or ugly formatting. archive.org fucking sucks.
-Four or more articles from TooManyChairShots.com, an old wrestling/humor site that I worked on with my pal Cactus Chris.
-A mysterious and possibly hilarious LP project that I may or may not have mentioned here before.
That's thirty eight pieces of content and counting. This list is growing by the minute, so it should be exciting. Not only are Josh and I working hard on new stuff, but I'm scouring the internet for as many "lost classics" from my old days. We are also in talks with some people about having them post content. It's like a melting pot of the new and the old. It will be delicious.

Just a slight update, I'm tinkering with a few things now that a I finally have some time off and I'm also finishing up two articles I've been working on. After I have discussions with Mr. Kowalsky we may be going live by the end of the month if not sooner.
All hail FNJ, destroyer of worlds, murderer of the guilty and protector of the innocent.

I didn't forget! I just figured it would make more sense to do it once the site is up.

I haven't discussed it with mister Woodzell yet, but I think it might be cool to try and launch in July. That's actually when the original iteration of THI first launched, back in 2004 when I used Freeservers and didn't know anything and was a shitty writer. We were shooting for the end of Februrary, but I didn't have a job until this week.
Also of note, The new E&N design coincidentally draws some inspiration from the original THI design:

legitimately, someone sent that to me as an article. I went to high school with these people. I'd normally reject that article, but I posted it as a joke.

I am well aware of the fact that TLDS isn't an actual review, but this is a mockup of what game reviews will look like:
