I was shaving my face this morning and I had my sink full. Well, I accidently hit my phone in the sink while it was on and now it's tweaking out like crazy. Is there some way besides getting a new phone, that could help solve this issue? And don't say the fridge because I'm trying that one now... It's a nokia 6900 something or other...

Water + Electronics = Fucked.
If it doesn't fix itself once it dries out (sometimes it does) or after you give it a good whack (sometimes it works, and what else do you have to lose?), you're in new phonesville, sir.

What the bunny said, The water probably caused a short when it made contact with the motherboard or logicboard, whatever the hell you want to call it, if it doesnt function after it's dried out then it's kaput. Unless you want to troll around for spare hardware, it's not really worth it.

I left my old phone out in the rain on accident once and it was fucked. It never worked even after it was completely dry.

Ideally, it's just cheaper/easier to get a new phone.
I washed my first phone by accident after I went swimming.
I'm overdue for a new phone at the moment...the screen is so messed up.

i've had two phones get wet and only one of the buttons stopped working on each. basically, i just took off the battery immediately after it got wet and let the phone + battery dry out for several hours. then i just reinstalled the battery and it started up fine. like i said, only one of the buttons didnt work. the first time it was the volume key and the 2nd time it was the camera button. otherwise it was kosher and i was able to text ok

Username has it right. You want to cut any and all power immediately. Remove the batteries so the capacitors lose their charge and let it dry out. Like Usa said, water + electronics = fucked, but if you remove the electricity it's no longer water + electronics, just water + metal. Of course, all that will only help you in the future. Sounds like that phone is indeed fucked.

After taking the phone apart, it is actually helpful to seal it in a bag of uncooked rice overnight, this pulls out any possible excess moisture.
This saved one of my Dad's phones that we thought would never work again, and one of my co-worker's who dropped her phone into a mop bucket.

Its also possible that the short caused a problem with the voltage regulators as you would experience the same problems if the battery was overcharged/impact damaged. Even though it is a Lithium Ion battery, it still operates on the same principles of +/-. those respective cells came in contact during your phone's underwater adventure. in SOME cases, replacing the battery can solve these "tweaking" issues. if it was me, i'd try battery replacement first, making sure to that the new battery comes with a money-back guarantee or works with a replacement phone. Just for future note, when you get an electronic item wet the first thing you should do (assuming it isn't going to electrocute you) is to remove its power source.
Second is to let it dry for at least 24 hours in a dry environment. Don't keep it somewhere with high humidity or it won't work.
Third is to test it out and see if it functions.
The water itself isn't conductive, however water carries trace amounts of conductive minerals in it. When the water evaporates those minerals are left as deposits. If they connect electronic points in your devices then the device will still fail.
In most cases, the device gets destroyed because it is powered on when it is affected by the water.
There are no guarantees except that Apple products are the worst to get wet.

so, i have a blackberry tour 9630. earlier today i updated some apps, and i had to reboot my phone in order for the update to take effect. i hit ok on my phone, but now my phone wont stop rebooting. reboots on these blackberries take forever and its very fucking annoying cause i cant do anything about it.
i tried taking the battery out for a while and that didnt work. i removed the sim card, the microsd card and nothing. i tried to google the solution, but all i get is people who had the same issue and how they had to get new phones.
anyone else have any other advice before i go to the sprint store?

well, it worked. unfortunately i lost all my apps (nbd, just gotta redownload them) and all my contacts. and shortcuts. and pics lol. good thing i backed up most my shit so it shouldnt be too difficult to have it back to normal
