You know what's rad? Having a 20 page research paper due tomorrow that you literally haven't started on that you had 10 weeks to work on

Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us. |

My research paper would probably start off with something like...
"'Hip-hop,' formerly known as 'gangsta rap,' began roughly about the same time that Ganon stole the Triforce of Power."
Well, okay, it wasn't that well researched, but it's got a certain zing to it.
Do we get to see the paper when it's finished?

Very nice work... keep it up.
What's your paper on anyway?

Congrats! I've never done a 20 page in a night, I did a 10 page in 2 nights once, and a 20 page paper that I had all semester to do in the last week before it was due.

Hahaha, thanks. Man, I feel so exhausted. I'm normally not tired at 9:43, but having my face buried in books and staring at this stupid monitor all day apparently kicked my ass.
now I just have to pass my finals...

aJewThatCanFly: a buddy of mine jsut finished a research paper on "Chichimecs, Aztecs, Toltecs and a bunch of other shit from ancient mexican history."
Matt Hack: That's awesome.
Matt Hack: I just finished one comparing the communication between characters in Chasing Amy and The Breakfast Club.
aJewThatCanFly: and to think in school I found relevant reasons to write papers on command and conquer and robocop
Matt Hack: Oh, you should see the shit they give you in college.
aJewThatCanFly: i can only imagine
Matt Hack: About two weeks ago, we were given 25 minutes to write an entire essay on whatever you want, as long as you use the three words "Dan beat Mary" in succession.
Matt Hack: I wrote about a set of siblings, Dan and Mary, who traveled back in time to compete in All Japan's Champion's Carnival in 1994. Dan beat Kobashi in 22:46 with the Ace Crusher to advance to the finals against Mary, who beat Taue in 35:09 with the backdrop driver. Then Dan beat Mary to win it.
Matt Hack: AND I pulled out an A.

I guess I wasn't the only one to do that in grad school. You'd think we'd all learn our lesson after college, but procrastination seems to be inescapable.

Though I do congratulate you on completing your paper, I know all too well how it feels to pull an essay out of my ass the night before it is due... I have spent many nights from say 9pm - 9am or so writing 10, 20, or even 25 page papers! Actually, I had a paper due in my Social Psychology Relationships class last year, a 4th year advanced social psychology class, in which I wrote the 25-ish page paper overnight... I got the highest mark in the class! I finished with a 90%.... But I don't know how you work... I can really only work when under pressure, it gets my brain juices flowing...
So... YAHOO to you!!!

It's like that one Calvin and Hobbes comic, where Calvin goes, "You can't just turn on inspiration like a faucet, Hobbes." Hobbes asks him how one can become inspired, and he replies with, "Last minute panic."
