We do apologize to the people that prefer zsnes, but snes9x has a nifty built in recorder that works about... 85% of the time, so that's what we go with. It's also handy to have everyone using the same emulator for the purpose of distributing the save states. Keep in mind that to get these save states, us people running this challenge have to get to that point in the game ourselves, and it's a helluva lot easier on us to not have to do it twice, once for each emulator.
And getting 1.52 is an excellent suggestion, I wasn't even aware that they'd updated.

okay, i dont post much but i lurk on here a fair bit, and i am so gonna be in this dammit!
one question, if you own the game on cartridge, can you play it on actual hardware, if you record it and upload it here 
or does it have to be emulator?

Well, we'd really prefer the emulator recorded file, but maybe we can make a rare exception if we have to.

I've moved on 2 occasions in 2 different Challenges  If you know it's coming or even know a good date estimation you'll be without the internet I'd PM Fernin or Not Sure. It's worked out for fine for me so far

I actually normally use BSNES, but I downloaded SNES9X for the challenge. It seems to work fine, as far as I can tell it does.
We shall see!
I can't wait for this challenge. Seems like a Lot of fun!

With some initial testing of 1.52, I've found the recording feature to be more reliable in certain areas that were problematic on 1.51. I'll keep testing it, but there's a good chance we'll actually be switching to 1.52 for the contest.

My aunt decided to throw a fit and delete my folder with the emulator, claiming "It causes the computer to shut down." It doesn't, as the computer has been randomly shutting down for some time now. She told me not to download anymore games, and seeing as it's her computer, I'll stop.
So until further notice, consider me out. Seeing as tax rebate season is upon us, I might get me a laptop before it begins, but only time will tell.

Hey, if you guys are having trouble with some output issue in snes9x v1.52, click options, go to display configuration and then change the output method from direct 3d to direct draw (or vice versa)

Just hit File>Record AVI when you have a ROM open and wanna start recording. If that doesn't work, hit Movie Record instead.
Also a side note, if we use 1.52, all the save states have to be made with 1.52, others won't work, in case no one knew  [/quote]
