Why should the Bears be on notice, you beat us last week. Or is that a Colbert reference?

oh please god.

ok,you know when a really good and funny movie comes out,and at first, only a couple people quote it and its fine, but then after a couple months and everybody seeing it, EVERYBODY quotes it all the time and it totally loses any meaning and hilarity, and instead is just really annoying?

don't fucking do it to the colbert report.

Cattivo, it's a Colbert reference, cause yeah, the Pats did indeed beat da Bears. B.B., are you one of those elitists that always talks about how you liked bands before anyone else ever heard of them and how now they suck because they're mainstream?

no I'm not. I'm just someone who doesn't like when people collectively reference something into obscurity.

"LOL GUYS,you're ' ON NOTICE!"
"hey,he just pulled a boner,we better put him 'ON NOTICE' zing!"
"GUYS LOLZ!1 CHECK OUT MY ONNOTICE LIST ItS JUUUUST LIKE COLBERTS!"

I think this is the first Colbert reference on this entire board. And I've been a fan of both Stephen Colbert and Stephen Carell since the Dana Carvey show and yet neither has faded into obscurity despite my liking them.

hey guys, remember that movie snakes on a plane?
wasn't it really funny when he said "im sick and tired of these mother fucking snakes on this mother fucking plane"?

yeah?
cool, lets reference it and drop it into every day conversation, untill people get really tired of hearing it referenced and parodied and it's not funny anymore.

seriously,it doesn't matter that it may be the first colbert report reference on THIS board, people are already beating his jokes into the ground via repetitive quoting and parodies. Leave Stephen colberts jokes to Stephen colbert.

I think it's a joke.

Regalsin is off terrorizing other forums with his inability to form complete sentences or use proper grammar.

Yeah, I seized control of Regal's name when I banned him. In fact, that's pretty much how I banned him. I chose not to delete him, because:

1) Someone else would have re-registered the name for fun.
2) His old posts must be left up for posterity and deleting him would turn them into "Guest" posts.

Snakes on a Plane had limited comic value to begin with. Colbert is timeless.

Actually, I can't really sit through The Colbert Report because the sarcasm just never gets a release.

We need Regal back, because he united everyone. Granted it was against him, but still. Twisted Evil

Speaking of Colbert, read this:

Hey guys, I came up with a great idea! How about no one in the world ever quotes a movie, show, book, friend, family member, comedian, or advertisement ever again?

That way, nothing could ever be worn out! We could just sit here silently and let each other know through hand signals or eye winks that we liked a certain movie or part of a certain book!

In fact, why don't we stop reading, watching, hearing, and seeing anything ever again? That way, we won't be tempted to quote, or even worse, to mention anything we like that is available to the general public for consumption and enjoyment!

WHO'S WITH ME? Besides B.B., of course.

I'm sure at least some of them have staying power. It's like when you watch the Weekend Update segment on reruns of SNL. Some of the jokes are still funny, but then they'll make a joke about some topical event that turned out to be completely irrelevant. You realize you found it kind of funny when it first aired and then you're disgusted with yourself.

Hear hear, Spanky!

And Jon, I believe your very first post was essentially "your top 100 NES list is wrong". Hardly peaceful. As for why people can say anything about anyone else well...I'm just the most violent on the board I guess.

He didn's say it was "all wrong". He said he disagreed with some games on the list and asked why certain games weren't on it.

In the words of Tatoo. . .

"Why do we have to fight?"

Shit! I just made a reference to something!

oh my! look how clever he is. He's taken my point, exaggerated it to make it seem like I wish to abolish all pop culture references! how witty and clever of him to do.

There is a line between Casually dropping pop culture references in conversation, and over-doing it. And an attempt to parody Stephen Colbert's "on notice" board is overdoing it. leave being funny to people who are original.
